This is bar none, the best beard brush I have ever used. They say you can use this on your hair, but for me it is the consummate beard brush. The wood is an excellent piece of pearwood, and feels very sturdy. The handle is nice, but you'll usually use it just to balance the brush in your hand, and use your thumb to apply pressure to the beard. The boars bristles are just about as stiff and strong as a wire brush. I'm not being hyperbolic, it feels like pulling a wire brush across your face, which is at first a little unsettling. This is what you want, trust me. When you look at the brush later you will notice the exfoliating power of this brush. After using this brush daily, (for less than 2 minutes at a time) you will notice that your beard is no longer itchy, not matter how long it is. This brush removes a lot of dead skin, and allows your face to feel clean. If you use beard oil, fear not. This brush accepts oil, and is great at spreading it throughout the beard. I imagine if your beard is not so long, you might go easy with this brush due to the strength of the bristles. For longer beards, you can really go to town, and this brush will get your hairs to sit down flat without trouble. No other brush has been able to do this for my beard. The craftmanship of this brush seems such that it should last many years with good care, which according to the instructions mainly consists of not getting the brush overly wet. The wood seems to be stained, but not lacquered or finished, and so I imagine long contact with water would allow the wood to absorb too much water and become damaged. OVERALL GRADE: A+ + Excellent craftmanship, wood feels great and smooth + Super strong bristles, they feel like a wire brush + Brush is great at exfoliating (keeps beards from itching)

It is hard to find a good quality boar hair brush. One that is actual 100% boar hair and not a mix with other types of nylon or plastic bristles. This brush is one of the higher costing boar hair brushes I had seen but I decided to take a leap and give it a try. They quality is there straight from the box. Once you open the box you will understand why you spent more on this brush. The pear wood handle is as soft and smooth as advertised. Though I wish the handle was a little longer (my preference with having long hair your hand gets tired after a bit) it is well made. The boar bristles are well attached and the brush has not lost any. This brush has definitely been tested well. It has been used on long and short hair, long and short beard hair and dry and wet hair. I would say I feel it is more for medium then thick hair but it does work on thick hair. The funny thing is that hair is one of those things that not everything works for everyone. So I'm not taking anything away from the rating score. Even though it ended up being a beard only brush for my husband. I would definitely recommend giving it a try to see how it works for you. I am happy with my leap and the quality of my purchase. I feel I received what I paid for.

I love the grip and handle, and the firm bristles feel great in my hair and on my scalp / beard and chin. I've bought all the brushes Zilberhaar and daamanda offer, and this is by far my favorite. I'd started with the pocket-sized ones and eventually got this Major stiff bristle version. It is very solid and well made, with a good weight and shape. I ultimately keep it in my pocket instead of the smaller ones since I love the feel and function of it. It is satisfying to use and fits in a larger pocket well. I even bought a second for my dad, and unfortunately just lost mine in a car fire and this was the first thing I replaced. (It was the best and I'm so sad to have lost it. Never leaving one in a car again, lol.) I know the replacement will be great and look forward to it arriving today. Zilberhaar has been a solid investment, and their boxed kits are a nifty gift as well. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Very very nice brush. I thought it had bristle things instead of just brush but probably read that wrong. Combs nice but is a little soft for thicker beards. On the whole a great brush. Also one you don't have to worry about your daughter, or wife disappearing with it!

The wood is good, nice and smooth. Great size. The bristles do the job but man they're scratchy as they should be. You'll be ok, tough guy.

This brush is small enough to be comfortable in the hand, unlike my wife’s large brushes. The bristles are very stiff but I have very thick hair that is hard to get most brushes through except those fat plastic bristles, those ones with the little balls on the tips. Also, the bristles feel good as I brush my hair, like a head scratcher. I like this brush very much.

I already own a Zilberhaar Long Beard Brush, and have been very happy with it - it’s a classy, highly functional brush that’s worth the premium price. I’ve wanted the Major Hair & Beard Brush for a while, but have been hesitant to buy it… basically because it’s £35! Anyway, I finally bit the bullet and bought one. First impression? The handle isn’t very long, but on reading the instructions I found out this is intentional because you don’t just hold it by the handle - you hold the head too, like you would a military brush. Once you’ve tried it a couple of times, it becomes second nature, and allows the brush to penetrate the beard better, and to brush through my long hair without dragging too. The build quality is superb and, like the other I purchased, I expect this brush to last me for the rest of my life. The stiff boar bristles penetrate my head and beard hair effectively, allowing both to be styled easily. The Major Brush is a definite upgrade from the Long Brush, with the additional bristles allowing for greater penetration and control. It also massages your face as you brush, with a somewhat exfoliating quality on the face beneath the beard. When all’s said and done, not everybody will want to spend the premium price on a hair/beard brush, I fully appreciate that - I was hesitant myself. However, now that I own one, I truly believe it to be an excellent investment that will last for years to come. It’s already considered a vital component of my beard maintenance routine, and I use it much more for my hair than I was expecting to too. Although it’s a term used more often for clothes, I would describe the Major Brush as having sartorial excellence. A very well deserved two thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻
