Beautiful book, Sufi writing on Mary in Islam
The book is a gem. Well written, easy to understand. And a wonderful forward and mystical commentary by Heart of the Qur'an author Lex Hixon (Nur al-Anwar al-Jerrahi). While a small volume, it is well organized. The author Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak Al-Jerrahi was a Sufi master from Istanbul. His prose poem is very beautiful and interspersed with thoughts and comments. While Islamic devotional writing, it includes an awareness of Christian culture and also has references to the Desert Fathers practices. It is a lovely bridge for Mary lovers to understand her place Islam and Quranic writings.I will use it for contemplation and learning.I found this book in the foreword of the book Mary the Blessed Virgin of Islam by Aliah Schleifer and am very glad I did!

Great little book on Mary with many references from the Koran mixed in with commentary. The forward/introduction is equally as good.

An interesting insight into the life of Mary from the Islamic perspective
I am rather surprised this book isn't better known. Written by a Turkish Sufi Sheikh, the late Sheikh Muzaffer Ozak of the Jerrahi Halveti (Khalwati) order this book was written for the Western audience to provide them with an insight into the Islamic perspective on the life of the virgin Mary. What is a surprise is that the differences between how she is understood in the Islamic world is of very little difference to how she is understood in the Christian one. The book covers her life beginning from her childhood and education to the birth of Christ to her final passing away. The book is rather short and lacks any real reference or source for further reading but still, it is an interesting book in that I am not aware of any other of its kind in the English language.
