Well made and have been used some. Several of these were placed in my church in several locations mainly for emergency use in an evacuation. They are very solidly made.

For comparison I have 2 Maglights, a 2-D cell and a 3-D cell. The beam on them is adjustable while this one isn't and the aluminum body they have is heavier then this flashlight. The switch on them is more internal while the switch on this one sticks out a little more, but that's not a bad thing. The battery life with this flashlight is 10 hours using 2 new alkaline D cells. The led in this flashlight draws a lot of current to get 600 lumens and the flashlight body did get warm and so did the batteries after being on continuously for a few hours. I would recommend to anyone getting this flashlight to invest in getting rechargeable 10,000mha D cells and a charger otherwise you will be going through a lot of alkaline D cells if you use it as much as I do mine. It does throw a very good beam. I gave it 5 stars because I knew what I was getting and it is good for what it is but would be 4 stars compared to the Maglights.

Update. They will not reliably work u til you do this: push the ring of metal contacts in the screw on cap down and make sure tbat it is secure and stands straight up (as much as possible), then the flashlight will work with batteries as normal.I had to correct all 3 for them to work.Good price. They are much thinner than my big metal mag light but will be good to keep on the car…one for my car, one for my wife and one to have at home to go with a big magnate and small 3x AA metal Acura flashlight.Maglites are double the price.

I actually wanted a C cell but ordered this one by mistake and was pleasently surprised. It's very lightweight and has a nice, no slip knurling. I didnt have any D batteries but did have a few battery converters. Each accepts up to three AA batteries and while the light would function with one AA in each of the converter, I used two generic alkaine batteries in each one. The beam had a tight central bright spot which reached out to about 100 meters and a wide throw which provides good area illumination . I was going to return it but may end up ordering another one

Works great but not that brute.

uses 2 standard d cells . Works well so far . only had it a weeks so can't say about long term
