Paint Palette saver
This is so very useful when saving paint on your palette. Used for oils and with the sealing lid, it keeps paints from drying out between painting. The lid is somewhat flexible but it is supposedly needed for proper sealing. Time will tell but good so far.

Great air tight container for painting
The fit with the glass palette is perfect, and the lid is super airtight for keeping acrylic paints fresh, however note the size can be a bit bulky (this brand does have one size smaller) and the cover can be hard to get on/off (you need good hand strength). I’m sure the cover will get easier with repeated use. Is a bit expensive, but the quality of this plastic looks like it will last many, many years. Overall great product for any artist using acrylic paints.

Does not keep oil paint from drying out as much as hoped
Maybe it delays drying by a little bit, maybe the paint might last until the next day. But for the super fast drying paints like Prussian blue, they're still dry the next day, even after totally sealing the container all around the edges according to the instructions given. I feel that the seal is tight, but there's enough air still on the inside after it's sealed that it still dries out the paint regardless. If it makes a difference, I use paper palettes rather than the glass one that some people use, so maybe paper takes up less space leaving more room for air to still be inside. It might be good to save paint if you have to go to bed and want it to still be wet the next morning, but after 2-3 days, the paints (other than the slow drying ones like yellow) will still be drying up as if you just left them out normally. I was really hoping for something where I could paint, take a break for 2-3 days, and come back with the paint still usable, but this is not the case. Also, sealing the container tightly is a pain (literally very painful on the hands to press on the lid hard enough to properly seal it going around every inch of the edge) and it makes so little of a difference in drying speed that at this point, I don't even seal the lid and it's just a nice palette holder. It's still good as a palette holder and nicely fits a 12x16 inch palette, it does slow drying somewhat, but it did not slow drying nearly as much as I had hoped.

Has saved me a lot of money
I keep my palette paper pad and "in use" oil paints in this sealable container. It works really well. I have had no problems with the fit of the lid or the seal. I did initially apply some Vaseline to the lid with a Q-tip, and marked the corners of the lid and bottom left corners with a sharpie so that I always have the same top and bottom corners aligned the same way. Works beautifully - have had zero issues.I also put this palette box in the freezer for days between my paint sessions, which extends the life of my oil paint and has saved me tons of money. I do let it warm up for about 15 minutes though, before opening and using.

No kidding, this is fantastic for acrylic paint!
I bought this variation on the Masterson Sta-Wet palette product line, as the one I had before, did not work well after awhile. It was more for watercolor or oil, I'm thinking. This particular palette states very clearly in the instructions that if you are keeping acrylic paints, it is recommended that you use their sponge and paper for acrylic. I did not heed that recommendation. All I have to say is WOW! I kept several colors locked up tight in this palette(Purchased 27 May 2025) and opened it today, 20 June 2025. All of the paints were still wet and workable. The mixed areas were dry, but that happens no matter what you do. I am SOLD.I would advise that you make sure to snap the lid tightly. When you think you have it, press lightly in the middle. If you hear air whistling, you need to push it down all the way around.Couldn't be happier with this product.

Won’t close after first use!
I hate this thing. I was taking an advanced oil painting class and the teacher wanted everyone to get this box since it was a multiple day class and we were leaving the paints there overnight so I ordered it. I followed instructions and even marked my left corner as indicated. It was a little difficult to close but no big deal. Day 1 of class … Neither the teacher nor me could get the top on at the end of the day. The sides just won’t line up and pop on. Of course, I marked the left corner and it also has some paint on the side so I cannot return it. A total waste of money! And something I thought I could use for years gets to pollute the landfills. Disgusted by the poor quality.
