This doesn’t work as advertised. The wood spins. It doesn’t split regular wood. Possibly is made for soft wood. We lost two large trees last year and bought this to help break up the wood to put into our fireplace and it did not work at all. We had to return it. If you have soft wood your splitting it might work. It won’t work on walnut wood, or other similar hard wood

I am a senior and needed an extra boost in helping me with splitting logs for my fireplace. I have gone back to the old fashioned way of splitting them. This item did not work for me.

I was very hopeful, actually excited to use this drill bit to split logs. I followed directions, placing the drill bit on the round side, close to the cut edge. I purposely grabbed a small log for the first attempt, no more than 5 inch diameter. the drill bit barely went in the wood. then it got stuck. It didn't split anything. I tried in several areas but no luck. the bit just gets buried in the wood. waste of money. should've bought a AX!

This is a joke of a product for any serious splitting. I could split wood 10 times faster with a hatchet. This is ONLY GOOD for SMALL KINDLING WOOD. I tried an eight inch wide piece of firewood and it would not go in more than inch before stopping - and I used a powerful 18 volt MILWAUKEE DRILL! DO NOT BUY unless you just want to split small kindling pieces.

Tried it out on some large but fireplace sized dried logs. The bit kept getting caught in the log and didn’t power through as I had hoped. It only works if you chip away at the very edge of the log taking no more than an inch or two of wood.

You better invite Dwayne The Rock Johnson over to split your wood if you’re going to use this drill bit thing.. Make sure he took steroids and ate a bowl of Wheaties too. The bit just digs in and stalls every drill I attempted to use. Tried multiple drills on multiple logs. Didn’t split anything. It just bites and attempts to break your wrists or spins the log. 0/10

Very easy to use and it’ll git r done!

It got jammed into the first log I tried to split with it. When I tried to back it out the threaded insert just came out leaving the splitting part stuck in the log. I had to use a pipe wrench to back it out.I tried it with a bigger drill. A brand new makita Dhandle and it got jammed again and the drill started smoking. I tried to back it off but again I had to use a pipe wrench to remove the tool.I will be returning this. It's a gimmick that doesn't work for anything that couldn't be spilt more quickly with an axe.
