Auto Idle Start Stop Eliminator/Disabler/Delete, for Honda Pilot 2023-2025

This is a simple device to avoid a frustrating experience. Our new Honda Pilot has the Engine Idle Off system (that is, the engine shuts off when the brakes are applied to a stop). I have found this not only frustrating, but downright dangerous. Before installing this device, when I need to scoot out of a stop to get in traffic, the Engine Idle Off system causes the engine to hesitate while it starts, and thus changing the timing of getting in to traffic. This might cause an accident. I hate, hate, hate, hate the Engine Idle Off system. Further, when any engine starts there is a fraction of a second where bearings are not being lubricated because the oil pump must start to pump. Take that fraction of a second with no lubricant and multiply times the hundreds of times the engine starts under those conditions, and you have premature engine parts wear. Possibly leading to catastrophic engine failure. This device IS FANTASTIC. It only took about 15 minutes to install, after watching the online video. For the price, I believe it is protecting my engine for longer wear. Further, it does not rely on my remembering to turn off Engine Idle Off before driving. This is much more relaxing. CAUTION: Make sure the device you are purchasing is MADE FOR the exact Make, Model, and Year that you are working on. Cars are different and this item may not fit yours, but there probably is one available that does. Just be sure to check. Finally, find an online video that shows how to install it. I know, "everyone" already does, but I just thought I'd mention it.

Easy to install and works great. Check out installation videos on youtube to see how it's done since there are NO instructions with the item. I'm so glad to not have to deal with the Idle Stop/Start in my 2026 Pilot. I hope this is a long-term solution. Note that the stop/start function can be turned ON if you occasionally want to use it.

Took less than 3 minutes to install and works perfectly. Now, every time I start my 2025 Honda Pilot the auto start/stop is turned off. You get 3 things in the bag: the dongle, the pry bar tool, and a warranty card that's 100% in Chinese. I had seen in this listing and similar items how to install it, and it was pretty self-explanatory. Best Amazon money I have spent in a long time.

5 minute install. Super simple. Works like a charm. Great value as this is about 1/4 of the price of many. Wish I would have done this two years ago! Other than the default for the auto start/stop being off on startup. Everything else works exactly like it should

Although I love my Hondas, I really hate the automatic start/stop feature with a passion. It is both hard on the car's engine as well as the battery and starting system. It is also very unsafe, as it causes my Honda Pilot to hesitate before get going after every activation increasing the chances of the cars behind me running into my car. Best thing that could happen is if Honda would leave out this "feature" altogether. Next to best is for Honda to allow me to permanently disable this auto start/stop pest. But Honda does neither, and I have had to live with this auto start/stop pest for a couple of years now for my 2024 Honda Pilot EX-L. Even when I turn it off each drive, it would reactivate every time I drive my Pilot. What a PEST and pain in the you know what!! I stumbled onto this device from a YouTube how-to video by accident. The person in the YouTube video said it worked great for him. So I immediately bought this disabler device on Amazon and installed it into my Honda Pilot. The hardest part of the installation is taking off the plastic cover trim piece that has all the shifting buttons as well as the auto start/stop on/off button. The YouTube video did not mention a few things that I will bring up here. (1) It is moderately difficult to snap the plastic cover trim piece off. All of the snaps were pretty tight, and I constantly feared that I would break this trim piece. So use the plastic pry bar that is included in this item's package very gently and carefully to remove the cover. I both pry and rotate the plastic pry tool in my hand to loosen the clips. There are 5 snap clip hinges: two in front (towards the front of the car), two in the middle of the sides, and one in the rear right (passenger side) of the plastic cover. (2) The rear left (driver side) corner is actually GLUED! Thanks a bunch Honda! So I had no choice but gently but persistently pry that corner and break the glue layer in that corner in order to remove the plastic cover - Honda, what were you thinking?? There should have been just another snap clip hinges in that corner and not glued like that. I think this Honda gluing this corner of the trim piece issue is what caused some reviewers difficulty in removing this trim piece. There are plenty of room below the cover trim piece to connect the disabler dongle and leave it down there. Once done, it worked as advertised. WOWEEE! I am now free of the stupid auto start/stop madness and don't have to worry about it ever again! Plus if you ever want this start/stop thing working again just press that silly button which still works. So no loss in true functionality. This is a great accessory that is a must have in my opinion. Very reasonable price by the way. UPDATE: It's been working great for my Honda Pilot. No more auto start/stop. No problems at all. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! Some reviewers mentioned that after about six months of usage they got an error code "auto start/stop malfunction" for their Honda. I have not seen that error code yet. I will update this 5-star review to a lower rating if I see that error code comes up. I suspect that the disabler itself malfunction in which case I would either simply remove the broken disabler dongle or replace it. I would be glad to buy another disabler if this one ever breaks. Of course, my rating will be lowered if this disabler turns out to be unreliable.

Installed this on a 2026 Honda Pilot. Easy install, just be patient and firm with the tabs. Use a thin cloth around the ends to prevent scratching the console. The device fits perfectly and works as advertised.

Just installed this with ease in Honda Pilot 2023. Took me (at the most time) 10 minutes. As previously stated in other reviews - most time was taken removing the console cover, to ensure no breakage.

Put it in on my 2026 pilot, works great! Getting the panel off is annoying, I had one clip being stubborn and was worried I was going to break it. Great Product, and can confirm works on 2026.

This item fitted my Honda Pilot 2023 perfectly and worked as it should every time I started my vehicle, with no hesitation. It was a very easy install and took me only 2 minutes to complete the job.

The device came with a plastic tool to assist in removing the electronic shifter console. I didn't want to break any of the tabs holding down the shifter console so I was careful taking the shifter console off. It took me a few minutes. I started to lift the shifter console from the front first and slowly releasing the tabs to the back panel. I unplugged the electrical plug and inserted the Auto Stop Start device and started the vehicle to test the Idle - Stop on the Pilot and it defaulted to "Off" and you can toggle to "On" as needed. Putting the electronic shifter console back on was easy. Just line up the tabs and slowly push until you hear the snap. The device has been installed for about a month. Works as expected. It took me about 10 minutes to install and test. You could install in less time it took me but I was being careful not to damage or scratch up my console.

Much cheaper than the IdleStopper. Been using it for almost 2 years without any problems. Straight forward installation instructions.
