Integrity Check FTW
This filter has been my favorite for years. I've had a few of them, and gifted many. I love that I can easily perform an integrity check without needing anything else, and cleaning the filter and drying it out for winter are both super simple. The only time my filter stopped working, was due to my own negligence: dropping it off a cliff on accident. It's size is perfect, in that it pairs well in the pocket that I keep my Spyderco Salt Assist, and weighs next to nothing. The first one I owned, I still have today, and the one I'm reviewing for was my backup that I dropped off a cliff. 10/10 value. One thing that really makes this my go to filter is simply the unparalleled flow rate compared to all other backpacking filters I have seen on the trail. Plus most of those, you can't easily perform an integrity check, and that's super important for me.

Well thought out product
This really works fast for a filter. I have a Sawyer filter as well and this one is somewhat faster filtering. It does have a bigger opening. What I REALLY like about this filter is the caps on each end. One is a screw on for the dirty side and the other side has a flip cap for the clean side. The flip cap is easily screwed off to utilize the adapter for water bottles like your standard convenience store water bottle. It's also easy to clean and then put away whenever you are done. The caps are really helpful when you need to keep the filter on your person in freezing weather. You don't have to worry about getting wet from the filter. The only drawback is that it doesn't have a hose connect attachment. I have a bladder and that would be the icing on the cake for it. They may offer them elsewhere but it would be nice if they were part of the kit. Overall, a great product.

This one works great!
I received a platypus ultra light backpack, filter system as a gift a few months ago and when I went to use it, the filter didn’t work at all. I could only get a few drops out. I soaked it. I worked with it. I backflowed it and nothing would work so I ordered this new one just to see if it was a multi filter or if it was a faulty product. This new one was great. Water came gushing out and you could’ve filled multiple water bottles in a hurry with it. I highly recommend this for hiking, backpacking, etc if you get a working one

Great filter
Have completed multiple backcountry trips using this filter with no problem. We go through a lot of water too. Great flow, easy access. Definitely the way to go for any backpacker!

Quality filter, but reduced protection against Protozoa and a bit heavy compared to the competition.
Works as advertised, however if weight is a concern, this filter is heavy for what you get. While it has a great flow rate, that comes with tradeoffs. This filter is Log 3 (99.9% effectiveness against Protozoa) compared to something like the Lifestraw Peak Series (Log 5, 99.999%) or Sawyer Squeeze (Log 6, 99.9999%). In areas with a large potential for animal contamination, those extra 2 or 3 "9s" can mean going from a 1 in 100,000 chance of getting sick to a 1 in 1,000 or worse odds. I'm willing to accept the odds for a weekend or multi-day trip. However, for a month long or multi-month thru-hike where you're filtering 3-4 liters a day, I'd opt for the increased protection and suffer the slower flow rate. I do appreciate the ability to seal both ends so I can tuck it in a pocket or sleeping bag in freezing weather without worrying about leaks. The integrity check is also a nice feature that is lacking for most of it's competitors.

compact and easy to use
was a little nervous testing this out on a three day backpacking trip but ended up pleasantly surprised and experienced no issues whatsoever. paired this with a Cnoc Vecto and it was the perfect combo. love the back flush capabilities and being able to clearly see the filter. also really nice having the clean / dirty caps. i’d say it’s faster than the sawyer squeeze from my experience, my buddy and i were filtering side by side to compare.

By far the best filter I’ve used yet.
This filter changes the game. Paired with the Cnoc vecto it’s the perfect filter set up with the included adapter that lets you screw smart water bottles right to it and vents the air as your bottle fills up. I couldn’t be happier with it.

This is the industry leader when it comes to on-the-trail water filtering. Super lightweight. Brilliantly quick when it comes to waterflow and easy to use. The thread works perfectly well with standard bottle sizes and it has gotten me out of a bind in several hot days up in the mountains when I have run out of water
