I just received this product so I can’t rate its effectiveness BUT, I use several other products from the company and they are awesome so I am confident I will love this one too!

This is good sunscreen but I can feel it on my face as I'm working in the yard. I prefer a more lightweight formula that I can completely forget I'm wearing. I broke out the first time I used it but it didn't seem to bother my skin with subsequent applications. The price is pretty steep in my opinion.

I'm a natural redhead, so I think I have a lot of weight when it comes to my opinion on sunscreen. As someone who has used all manners (gels, hydrogels, lotions, creams, sprays, oils) and price points (cheap drugstore to expensive luxury brands) of sunscreen in the last few decades, the big takeaways are ensuring it is pleasant to apply and effective. If a sunscreen is thick, heavy, sticky, smelly, or greasy, a pain to apply, and leaves you looking orange or ghostly, people are not going to bother. We're told we should be wearing it regularly, year-round, rain or shine, but who is going to do that with products they dislike? This Caldera + Lab The Face SPF, while expensive for zinc oxide (a common mineral filter) sunscreen, ticks the right boxes for me. I would not pay $65 for a 1.69oz plastic pump of zinc oxide, but this cost aligns with the Caldera + Lab brand. Having said that, I did enjoy the use and quality. It is creamy, unscented (I didn't notice a smell), lightweight, non-greasy, and didn't leave me feeling gummy or looking shiny. It spreads easily and melts into the skin without leaving a white cast - which often happens with zinc oxide. So, if these points are important to you, and you are looking for a good SPF, and the price isn't as much of a factor when it comes to your skincare, the Caldera + Lab The Face SPF would be a nice one to try. Don't forget to coat all exposed areas, including lips, ears, neck, etc., and reapply often.

I wear sunscreen everyday, year round, so I am always on the lookout for a good face sunscreen. I want one that is not oily/greasy so that I can wear makeup over it or that I can at least look fresh faced without makeup, but not like I spent the afternoon slathering on sunscreen at the pool! I feel like this Caldera Lab sunscreen meets that need. It’s matteifying, I don’t look greasy at all with this sunscreen. It has a minor sunscreen-y scent, nothing overpowering, almost a bit woodsy, but really, it’s almost not noticeable. No white cast with this mineral sunscreen. Apply and go! But let’s address the cost - currently $65. I only use this sunscreen on my face and décolletage, I don’t share it with my kiddos. I also only use this sunscreen on regular days, not at the pool, beach, skiing, gardening, etc. (those days, I use something with a higher SPF and reapply a lot). So, for daily use, I am using a quality product, similar in cost to some of my makeup or high end skincare products. Definitely using this product in a different manner than other sunscreens so that I can care for my skin everyday, not just on the days we think we need sunscreen. In that way, this price is worth it.

The people who are saying it's to pricey, What I say to that is what is your skins health/protection worth to you? Using all their products. . Even though my hair is thinning. Knowing my skin and going to the gym definitely helps overall... something about the quality.... I feel it working. If you gotta budget it in your monthly hygiene budget. Do iittt you won't regret it.
