Hard nickel plated; shifts as well as Shimano
I ordered this for my older commuter. This cassette has hard nickel plating, which so far has held up well. This cassette is designed for 7 speed freehubs, but it can be used on 8/9 speed freehubs if you use a spacer with the proper reliefs to accommodate the rivet pins on the backside of the cassette. I had no issues getting it to shift with a KMC chain and Shimano shifter/derailleur. The lockring torqued down fine. The value is decent and this is a great way to keep older bikes going strong.
