We wanted a tracking PTZ zoom camera for our Sunday worship livestreaming at church. This AVKNS LV20N camera is a great value with outstanding image, auto tracking, multiple simultaneous outputs including NDI (though for now we only use HDMI), POE support (or local, included power supply) and a nice IR remote (in case you want to operate the camera without using the built-in web interface or other operation options). It also comes with a mounting bracket for wall or ceiling mount. I upgraded the firmware using the web interface to be version 1.0.26 which was easily found on the manufacturers web site. The manual that came with the unit is lacking, but there are a number of videos on YouTube that are helpful. In particular, to set up auto tracking so that it works well, you should set preset 1 to be the initial tracking image and set preset 0 to be the "arena". The arena is the area where the camera will zoom out to if tracking is lost so it can find the person an resume tracking. I found that it tracks very well, panning, tilting and zooming as needed to track the speaker, even with the camera over 50 feet from the speaker. If you want to enable and control tracking with the IR remote you should know that F1 enables/disables tracking. Change the zoom of the tracking with F2, F3 and F4: F2 tracks with a close zoom image, F3 tracks with a medium zoom image, and F4 tracks with a wider zoom image. I found that F3 works best for our situation. The IR sensor is on the front of the base, so if you use the IR remote, you may need to orient the base differently depending on the location of the IR remote. It is currently not possible to set to zoom range for tracking via the joystick controller. The manufacturer said "Once we have created visca IP commands, then you can do it." Hopefully that will happen soon because it is the only reason that I still need to use the IR remote. The manufacturer and seller responded in less than 12 hours to inquiries and provided helpful information via both the amazon support link or the support email found on the manufacturer's web site.

A really great camera, purchased two on a great deal used. Recently used it with the AV Pro Joystick controller, wired up to a Rodecaster Video switcher taking in everything over NDI for over 24 hours continuously without break. The cameras were moved constantly during this period and they performed well, even in somewhat low light conditions. The video is good, of course the color clarity and sharpness is not as great as a mirrorless or even higher end PTZ cameras, but for this price point, the technology is great. NDI makes things so easy as a single cable can deliver power + control (VISCA over IP) and get the video. An even greater point is the support from the AVKANS team. They respond so swiftly and are willing to spend the time to help you figure things out the right way (some settings may not work with each other always, for example NDI HX3 disables RTSP, but NDI HX2 doesn't - you need RTSP to see the preview on the AVKANS pro joy controller - which is a really great addition to these cameras). All in all, can't complain. in the future, may definitely upgrade to the 4k versions from AVKANS that have better sensors, maybe once we get 4k capable switchers too.

Update 4/29/2022 After some assistance through remote support I am happy to update my review back to five stars. Furthermore I learned that you can remotely start and stop auto tracking by clicking 80 and 81 on my joystick call buttons. Both cameras seem to work at 100%. There was only one issue I am not sure if it was fixed but I am hopeful it was fixed with firmware update. Update-3/31/22 Bought a second camera and then mounted them and all of a sudden the auto tracking ceased to work correctly on both of them and the last purchased camera freezes mid stream almost at regular intervals. Using NDI on both of them and that correlates with the issues beginning but when testing the old way it still would not auto track which is the greatest let down. I demoted two stars because of these issues and also not finding any Support for updating these cameras. They still function as a great PTZ camera except the one has issues with the light being in line of the eye and making everything color washed. I control both cameras remotely using the Super Joystick by PTZ Optics. The NDI Function is awesome as I only need one POE Ethernet cable to have power video and control! Just bought this camera for use in a Church and so far it is amazing. Pre purchase considerations: I was hesitant to spend upwards of 2 or three times the amount on similar products just for ai Auto tracking features. And I was a little worried that the 20x optical zoom being able to cope with the 50 ft distance I would be needing it for as well as the ai auto tracking working like it should be. After a couple of weeks of use I am blown away at the possibilities and quality that this is over the prior cameras we had, none of which were ptz cameras. This camera is perfect for lower entry into the PTZ world with auto tracking capabilities. It takes a bit of research to figure out how to make it work how you want it to but for me it has been enjoyable. Pros: Price $1500 is a bargain compared to more heard of competitors (heard it used to be cheaper... So wish I had found this product back then!!) Works well with PTZOptics Joystick and live streaming. Cons: Software is a little backwards (Make sure to set the miniscule board under the camera to Menu in order to utilize the Software in changing camera settings - Lost a lot of time trying to figure that out.) and directions were a bit sparse for setting up. Remote control that comes with it is almost worthless because it barely registered in front of camera and unresponsive behind it.

I purchased the AVKANS 20X NDI Auto Tracking PTZ Camera back in March of 2023. Seven months later, I am having no issues. We have come to rely on this camera as a main during our worship service live stream. What I love: The lens brings in a lot of light and the control options work well. Changing from Auto to Bright suits us well for different areas with great color accuracy. It has so many connection options. We chose to use Ethernet for control as well as for power, and SDI for video feed. We may use NDI over Ethernet but since we have available SDI connectors and cables there is no need at this point. Two cables are fine by us. The preset load times are super fast. Customer service is superb! I ran into issues with configuring the device for an IP PTZ controller/keyboard. After emailing back and forth (response time was amazing) I learned I had to upgrade the firmware first to unlock the web access for control. I then was sent a YouTube video support made to show me exactly how to connect to the EXACT controller (there was a password that is needed that is not included in the manual). The configuration was simple and well-instructed. Adding as an NDI device was easy, but we turned it off to limit network traffic. What could be better: Controlling power. The only way to power on and off the device I found was the IR remote included. It has a very narrow band directly in front of the camera. For our setup that means leaving our control room and having to walk into the sanctuary with a remote. Compatibility with the PTZ controller. This is on the Controller manufacturer, but still relates to my experience. Documentation. Had the manual contained the password needed for a ptz controller, I wouldn't have needed to connect with them. Overall these are nitpicks. The camera is great and fits our needs. NOTE: This has tracking capabilities however we have yet to need to use this. The setup for it seems a bit complicated but there are videos online to walk us through it when we need to. It does require the first few preset slots, so recommend you keep your location-specific slots starting at 10. Strongly recommend this model and this company!

Harder to setup in advance of a presentation. Video quality is good. Tracking was inconsistent.

I bought this camera for our church as a 2nd camera to enable us to switch back and forth from our high priced camera to this low priced one. But the more we used it, the more we realized that this AVKANS camera operates better in some ways the our high priced camera. In particular, the AVKANS is better in lower light situations. With the AVKANS we can even pretty much dispense with spotlights on our stage on Sunday mornings, while with the high priced camera lighting is critical requiring special low light modes like AAE along with tricky settings to combat noise problems. The AVKANS just works in its Auto mode in all kinds of lighting. It is also simpler to setup. When we first got the AVKANS camera, we had some focus issues, But AVKANS support was great. They got online with the camera and automatically calibrated the focus for our venue, and it has been great ever since. At one point I thought that NDI-HX3 was not working correctly due to jerkiness in the hi-res NDI image in NDI Monitor. But now I believe it was more likely a mirage created by the way NDI Monitor works on a less powerful machine. Selecting low-bandwidth in NDI Monitor does not show any jerkiness, and there is no jerkiness in the actual 1080P output to a display. AVKANS has provided a couple of firmware updates since I bought the camera. When you update, you have to do it sequentially. That is, you need to install each of the the older updates in the series in order before you can install the most recent one. It is worth doing though. I especially like their new "One Push" White balance adjustment feature. It makes it easy to get the white balance right. Five Stars for this AVKANS camera!

The design and quality of the camera are really good and strong and was easy to add to the Ndi network we use. Unfortunately the tracking function wasn't useful for us. Overall: the camera is a good buy but for our purposes (4K) not good enough. Interesting to see is that the software for the tracking seems to be identical to the Ptzoptics tracking camera !! But for a much better price :)

Image quality is awesome! I love the quality of this camera running on sdi cable 200ft exceeds my expectations.Im definitely saving money for the AVKANS AI PTZ Camera . Had I know I wouldn't have bought my other 2ptz from a different store . Did zoom to the max and still maintained quality image no noise I can see to the naked eye Usually I don't do reviews but this one was worth it

The camera is sharp and the zoom is smooth. I'm eager to try it out in a live situation, which I haven't had the chance to do yet. I have to mention Akvans' support, who helped me set it up. They were fast and outstanding. I would have struggled without them. Whoever is doing support responded within an hour and then went out of their way to stay online until my system was fully functional. Best help I've ever had.
