Digital Compositing for Film and Video: Production Workflows and Techniques

If you're looking to buy any of these series of books I have been told by the gentleman who writes these himself that the only one you should be getting is the latest version. I didn't learn that till I ended up buying them all till I got to this version.Do not waste your money on previous versions just by the most recent and this is a good book.

I have all three previous editions. VFX changes quickly. I had some concerns to justify the order, given the highest price of all four so far.Anyway, it was OK to pay it, even I think that I look more forward edition five. What do I miss or wish would have been included (?), e.g., how to match all these artistic lenses, Petzval85 (as used on Legion2) or LensBaby optics (used in many movies), to name only a few. There are many questions open, but he describes more what is a given with current applications, not really techniques beyond such. Based on my insight into this area (25 years) this is the most up to date book I'm aware of.(Yes, I read it cover to cover, and it is nearly a complete re-write.)

Honestly, as a compositor, this book can really help me get more information and knowledge for nuke, how nuke work and I think I can get lots of summary experience in the book!

The best book for learning or reference for digital compositing. I am an experienced compositor and I still refer back to this from time to time when I need to brush up on technique or technical information.

I've followed many of Steve Wright's online classes, and this book goes even deeper under the hood to have a greater understanding of digital compositing. Highly recommended!

Definitivamente este libro es indispensable para aquellos que quieran aprender o se dediquen ya al compositing. Comprender el por qué de los procesos y parte de la matemática que hay detrás amplía tu entendimiento de las cosas a la hora de componer.

Steve Wright meinte, dass das Buch für professionelle vfx Artist ist. Leider kann ich es nicht zustimmen. Nur wenige Seiten in diesem Buch waren mir nützlich. Viele Themen vom Buch hat man schon in seinem vfx key Master Kurse angeschaut.
