This rug is not for everyone
This sisal rug is exactly as advertised... but I knew what to expect. NATURAL HAND WOVEN FIBERS are organic materials: there are imperfections and frays; it may have a natural grassy/woodsy scent at first and there will be debris; it is bumpy and lumpy. It's essentially a dried grass or stalk. These things are reasons to love sisal rugs. If you're not down with that, don't buy this rug. It's beautiful and organic and not for everyone. If you are looking for soft pile - don't order. If you have sensitive feet - don't order. If you are nit picky - don't order. And for the love of God, use a rug pad if you have hardwood floors, geez people. In summary, this rug is everything a sisal rug should be. It has a nice thickness and lovely color variations throughout. The end tassel appears to be a yarn also made of natural fiber. Beautifully crafted, for those who appreciate sisal.Update. I've now had this rug for 3 years and I still love it. It has held up so well in a high traffic area. I clean it with the vacuum on high pile setting so the brush doesn't touch the material. There's very minor frays where it was knotted off during weaving but the weave has held together nicely. The last image is an update after 3 years of use.

This thing will LAST.
I’ve had this rug for three years. I was cleaning my kitchen today and moved this rug and just remembered that I never left a review for it. That was in 2022 and it’s now 2025. This rug is still intact, still gorgeous, and keeps all the dirt underneath it. When you move it, you need to vacuum what’s been trapped in it. I love this it.

Beautiful rug with a few minor things to keep in mind
I bought the 8 x 10. At first glance in laying it over another 8 x 10 rug it fell short both ways by about 4 inches. After it was spread out and gently stretched which you have to do with Jute, it was closer but still off by 2 inches each way. Not a big deal breaker. Its not a thick rug but thick enough to give it quality. I put a foam padding under it for softness and so it wouldnt slip around. Upon arrival the packaging was horrible. One thin piece of plastic in cheap quality wrapping almost a step away from saran wrap honestly. It also wasnt even covered in the middle section so it was already dirty in the exposed 13 inch area. Luckily it was a miracle it didnt get ripped or destroyed. Im not sure whose fault that was- Amazon who didnt totally wrap it, the manufacturer or in shipment UPS could have damaged it. But with the thin cheap wrapping It was bound to occur. For the cost youd think they could spring for atleast a better packaging. However- I was able to use dawn soap and water to gently clean it and then blew dry it and it was fine. But had they properly wrapped the beautiful rug it could have saved me the aggravation. But it did clean easily. The key is very - very light water and drying it. Jute breaks down with liquids. The third issue is- whoever wrapped the rug used masking tape. Youve got to be kidding me. They wrapped it in 3 places with the tape so when I pulled on the rug on the first piece- it totally started to fray the entire backside area so I stopped. I then took a blow dryer to heat the tape and slowly gently removed each piece trying not to destroy the rug. I seriously still cant believe the used masking tape. Unreal. On a Jute rug?!. Just dumb. It took me another hour to get those 3 tapes off. So it came at 230. Took me till 330 to remove the tape. Then another hour to remove the dirty exposed area. Then finally at about 430, I was able to lay it all out and get it onto the foam padding. There were a few tiny areas of the fringe that were already loose, so I snipped them. No holes or any snags. A cpl of tiny spots of the Jute were darker in tiny areas but nothing that really stood out. Im not overly picky and Jute is known for some small variations in the Jute. Over all, I give this rug a 4 because of these issues mentioned. If it werent so soft and lush and beautiful I might have given it a 3. But its stunning. Super soft to the touch. No slippers needed. Color and design is uniform. Its exactly as pictured, color is true to the add. This was put in my home gym room where it won't get any traffic except for me. I love the rug! Its exactly what I was searching for. Had I not gone through the none sense I had to -Id given it a 10 star review. I do in the end however- feel its worth the headache because its stunningly beautiful. Maybe you wont go through the same ordeal.

Jute is a natural fiber, rough texture and can shed.
I LOVE this rug. For a 9x12 the price point at $224 was in line with my budget. I was looking for a natural organic rustic neutral appearance as a base and for something that didn’t stand out but defines the living space in a subtle way. This rug is perfect for what I needed. The tassels are ok. Made of wool yarn. If they get damaged I’m ok with removing them. They can be easily removed. But for now they are cute. More of a fringe than tassel. I have a rug pad under the rug. It’s pretty necessary as the rug will shift around unless the pad is there. I am very pleased with this purchase. It’s a nice natural pretty heavy duty feeling rug priced right.

Dogs like to pee. on it
Beautiful rug. But..... There is a ton of dirt and dust in it, I don't know if it's because it's natural fiber but my dogs feel the need to find the small sticks in it and pee on it. Be wary

Beautiful rug, great price
I decided to go with this rug for the simplicity of the earth tone and natural material. The texture on it adds a real warmth to it. It will be perfect to pair with the boho look my new home will have. Feels nice to walk on. It is thicker so some may find that it blocks doors from opening though I don’t have that problem myself. The rug does have an earthy smell immediately upon opening, but I don’t find it offensive and hopefully over time it will fade.

Unusable rug
I ordered the 6x9 rug based on the reviews and pictures. When it arrived, I noticed the wrapping was filthy and partially ripped. After removing the wrapping, the rug felt very dusty so I took it out on the balcony to be able to hang it over the railing and clean it. Talk about DUST and dirt that came flying out when I started opening it up!!! The dust and dirt completely enveloped me and there was no way I would have brought that thing back in my house! It also was not as neatly woven as in the pictures but looked shabby. I wish I would've taken pictures, but I ended up throwing the rug off the balcony and into the grass and from there into the dumpster. Complete fail and don't recommend unless you live in a barn.
