When converting from halogen to LED, rather than replacing the transformer, consider replacing the bulb socket with these. Mains voltage GU10 bulbs are the same diameter as MR11 but operate on mains voltage. You replace both the transformer and MR11 socket with a GU10 socket. Many (but not all) fittings can be converted in this way - check yours before buying, chances are if the socket comes out with the bulb, you can convert it. If your lights are dimmable this makes it much easier, as you only need an LED dimmer switch and dimmable LED GU10 bulbs - no transformers (dimmable ones are more expensive).My only criticism of these GU10 lamp holders is that the tails could be a little longer.

Old 12v transformers worked with halogen bulbs but mad the LED bulbs flicker or buzz, these let me get rid of the old transformers and use GU10 bulbs for my downlighting

I have been converting my Tungsten Halogen "Golf Ball" Lights throughout my house, with the New High efficiency LED versions, to do this trick I needed the GU 10 holders which replace the wire push-on version installed, IF like me you happen to be a qualified Electrician, the job is simple, but made so much easier with these clever holders, they are beautifully made and electrically safe for the conversion, the added bonus here is the supplier who delivered these units via amazon in very fast time. Highly recommended product.

Replaced over 20 G4 connectors in my ceiling with these, connector blocks in exiting lights reused and transofmers cut out of loop. Nice smart bulbs now and easily replaceable in most shops, all for a few quid! its saved me the diesel I already spent trying to find replacement bulbs for the old ones, not to mention the energy saving

Decided as we were replacing all the carpet upstairs in out home I would change all the 12 volt spotlights to GU10 led lights. These made it so easy and the quality is fantastic
