Teenie Weenie
Surprisingly small box. Tiny cones. I've just dropped 1 in both of my tanks. I'm hoping to control the PH and read that they are good for Betta fish. They arrived quickly and there is more than 50 in the box. Although they are Teenie Weenie.I'm giving 5 stars, assuming they will work as I hope. Will update the review if I have any issues.

Small Alder Cones - More suitable for smaller shrimp tanks
I purchased Alder Cones with the intention of adding beneficial tannins to my 6-foot discus tank. While they were effective in quickly tanning the water, I found a few drawbacks.Firstly, the cones were smaller than I expected. It took an entire box to achieve the desired level of tannin in my tank, making it a relatively expensive solution, especially considering the frequent water changes required for discus.Secondly, the tanning effect didn't last very long. I didn't want to constantly purchase new cones every two weeks, so I switched to Fluval Peat, which offers a more sustainable and cost-effective solution. Peat disintegrates more slowly and can be placed in an external filter to lower pH and maintain a consistent tannin level. While Alder Cones may be suitable for smaller shrimp tanks, they're not the ideal choice for larger, more demanding fish like discus. For a more long-term and economical solution, I'd recommend exploring other options like peat or liquid tannins.

Beautifully Colors Water and Exceeds Expectations
These alder cones are fantastic! They beautifully tint the water a rich tea color, adding a natural look to my aquarium. I read some negative reviews about the quantity, but I counted 80 cones in my package—much more than expected. I’m extremely satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it

Perfect for Blackwater nano
Bought for a Blackwater biotope. Mine is a nano tank so the small size of these was perfect. Would highly recommend for Blackwater tanks or for shrimp tanks.
