Well I thought this would take care of my problem with my waste pump but I was wrong. I used one of these before in a larger environment they worked great , but if you don't have a lot of room for the float to move around in the container this is not for you . It must be able to move up and down at least a foot or so to work correctly as you can see by my video. it worked good for a while but then quit because it could not point close to straight up because the insulation on the wire was not pliable enough to let it bend easy in cold water. Great hah , The way it is made .

This worked with my submersible utility and kept my basement from flooding but I had to monitor so that adjustments could be made to ensure a good float operation. The auto off/on pumps are too large for where the pump can operate properly.

I am using this to maintain the water level in our pool for the winter. It is working great to keep the water from getting too high. Easy to use.

Plug and play

This didn't work in our application. With the cord pinned under the sump pump and enough slack for it to rise, we found that most times it would fall back in a position that did not turn off the power and the pump kept grinding. We had to keep getting out of bed to jiggle the float switch for it to turn off. We are going to replace the pump and float switch with a sump pump with a built in float valve that is not free to move around. Hope we don't get a lot of rain before we get this sorted out!

Now if there is a huge rain event and I'm not home, it will turn on my portable sump pump and keep my garage from flooding.
