Excellent sharp-witted succubus story
An excellent script, very good dialogue, good cinematography, and very good acting make this a superb addition to the succubus sub-genre of possession films. Megan Fox was never better than in this film.

Enjoyable watchable movie
Wasn't expecting much from this movie, not really a horror fan either, but I gotta say I enjoyed it :-) , the horror/ gore is on par with the brilliant 80s film Lost Boys, also it has a proper ending, doesn't leave you hanging like alot of films do,, ( not cool movie makers not cool,, ), The two leading ladies do a good job, if you like teen movies with abit of light rock soundtrack you'll like this, would I watch it it again? Yeh I probably would, not a bad film at all

A prom night takeaway
Jennifer's Body is a darkly comic horror film by Diablo Cody, who proved her storytelling skills with Juno. This film, which has Satanists, rock music, demons and gore, furrows very different ground. It's in the style of late 90s teen thrillers (The Faculty, Teaching Mrs. Tingle) but a bit more self-aware, like what Scream was to 80s slashers, though not as hardcore or satirical. Like Jennifer, Jennifer's Body goes both ways: it wants to be knowing and pure teensploitation. That mix doesn't really work - it would have been better as one or the other - but it's sometimes funny and very watchable. Jennifer Check (Megan Fox) is a high school hottie who takes her best friend, bespectacled Needy Lesnicky (Amanda Seyfried), to see a rock band led by The OC's Adam Brody play at their local dive. A fire breaks out and Jennifer disappears with the band. She returns as a flesh-eating demon with a Scissor Sister's taste for male flesh. As annoying as she is in real life (remarks about her Monroe tattoo still grate on me) Fox isn't a bad actress, and perfectly cast as Jennifer. She parodies teenage self-absorption, and Fox paints a more realistic high schooler than most we see on film and TV. There's humbugs who'll say she isn't just acting, but I'll give her credit: she delivers a good performance. Seyfried is also good as one of those teen movie nice girls; I've never found them believable, though I'm cynical. Meanwhile, Johnny Simmons plays Needy's sweet, down-to-earth boyfriend Chip Dove. The film's major flaw is its teasing coyness. There's a lesbo scene which comes out of nowhere, is completely unmotivated, yet shows nothing. Why have something so exploitive if it isn't, well, exploitive? There's also blood, but not bucket loads. Same with the humour; the script plays it straight for long stretches, even during scenes which are ripe for irony. Call me trash, but Jennifer's Body's crying out for gratuitous sex and gore. The emotional elements were impressive, however. I bought Needy and Chip's relationship and came to like them a lot. Chip's a sweetheart; even his ego's charming. Needy and Jennifer's last scene together is satisfyingly tragic. The sporadic comedy's also good. I doubted whether Brody could play a convincing villain, but he's nicely creepy here, and has a wonderful scene in the woods with Fox which is full of black humour. If Jennifer's Body had kept that tone throughout it would have been great, but it's still good fun.A note on the DVD: The deleted scenes are really worth watching. They add a lot of texture to the story. Why most were left out escapes me; at 102 minutes, maybe the film was thought long enough.

A must watch
LOVED THE FILM. Now my favourite, beat Orphan. I am a horror lover and things do not scare me but this film even made me jump. If you want to watch a great teen horror that gives you buzz filled with hot actors (Johnny Simmons, Megan Fox) then you must sit down in a dark room with your friends and get ready for scary horror that makes you fall in love with the characters!

Great if you like looking at Megan Fox
I got this film because I like looking at Megan Fox, and really it's not a bad film at all even if you are buying it just for that. I thought the actors were great, the story didn't necessarily do what you thought it would (so it was interesting), and it made me laugh.

Not quite another teen horror
I've seen Ginger Snaps, so this is pretty much in the same hormonal horror vein. Megan Fox is queen of the school Jennifer. She's friends with Needy (Amanda Seyfried), the "loser". The tone goes from teen slasher to Twilightesque and back. It lacks the verbal nastiness of Mean Girls and goes more for the last act of Carrie. There's blood, gore, kids getting eaten, but oddly considering the title, very little of Jennifer's Body. It's OK, just leave your brain at the door.
