John Muir: My Life with Nature

I am an adult but this book made me laugh in almost every chapter and inspired me in a very rare way by the end of the book. It made me see nature in a totally new light through john muir's incredible love for it and I felt inspired to spend more time in nature asap. I guess that was the beauty of john muir's writing and personality as the book explains--he inspired people in a way no one else could. He lived an incredible life, was a genius and could have made millions but through following his own path he did something far greater---he started the conservation movement saving the wilderness for future generations. thank you joseph cornell for introducing me to john muir. I already had an interest in him after reading his genius story stickeen, but after reading this book, I must know more and read more of his writings.

My nephew loved it!! I gave it to him for Christmas! He can't put it down. :) A great way to get him to respect nature.

Very good book for young and old to learn about the importance and beauty of our planet. I did not know John Muir was a man so ahead of his time when it came to the preservation of Earth...the trees, the water, the critters...he did not just emphasize conservation, but extolled a spirituality of nature...even what a regular rock represents...that has stayed with me. What a Scottsman!

It was a very interesting book that gave me insight into the life of a wonderful man. We went to Yosemite National Park right after I finished reading this book and so I was able to appreciate Yosemite 's history so much more than I would have been able to.

Perfect for homeschool, it has activities that encourage creative outdoor adventure.

My daughter did a report for 4th grade and used this book, it was a great book, she enjoyed it very much and got a A+ on the report.

I thought this book was written by john Muir. But it's written by someone else from the perspective of john Muir. Weird.

Few people realize how much we owe to John Muir. Our national parks would not exist without him. This book provided a great intro for my 6 year old daughter. She read parts, and I read parts. If your child loves nature at all, it is worth buying.

Lots if very interesting information in readable form.

Quick delivery, book is good for children as an introduction of John Muir.

I dint really enjoy the way the book was organised though I am a huge John Muir lover.
