My last version of Photoshop Elements was purchased circa 2006 and I've been using that version since then. When I bought my current laptop it seemed the right time to buy the latest version. Visiting the Adobe website it appeared that they no longer had a one off purchase option and that I would have to rent the software. Luckily I checked Amazon before going down that route, where I discovered that it was still possible to legitimately buy Elements outright. Amazingly after such a length of time much of the interface was familiar but with quite a few new (to me) useful additions and an improved layout. Adobe make a quality product and Elements has always had more than enough features for my specific needs. Getting the full Photoshop software would be overkill on an epic scale for me. The redeem code, download and activation process went without a hitch - just remember to read and follow the clear instructions and to make an accurate note of the two codes you're given. Overall a very good experience.

Bought this thinking it was an update of my old Adobe Elements, only to find that filters such as Topaz and NIK filters don't work. No warning about this in the hard sell info. In overall terms a cheap, rip off update of most other Abode Elements. I fear that I won't be able to get a refund.

Have been using this for a couple of weeks and as an old Photoshop user from way back, am pleasantly surprised at how feature-rich it is. It caters well both to casual users, with its Quick and Guided modes, and to advanced users with its Advanced mode. Once you find your way around the menus in Advanced mode, you will find most of the features from the full Photoshop, just in different menu options than in the full program.The two features I was disappointed not to find, as I used them a lot, are Vibrance and Exposure - and then I found out that if you install an optional add-on, the Adobe Camera Raw plug-in, it adds those two features (among other useful ones as well)! You just have to open your photo using the 'Open in Camera Raw' menu option to access them.A great addition is the ability to colorize black & white photos, with different program-generated palettes plus a Droplet tool to easily modify the colours yourself. There are many good enhancements and fixes both in Advanced and Guide mode. For example, Guide Mode includes Object Removal, Replace Background, Extend Background, Restore Old Photo and many other useful tools.I found to my relief that the program is also able to use Photoshop CS and CC plugins, actions, patterns and brushes, which is a huge bonus.The only things I find lacking is that it can't work with Channels, so if you need to work with an alpha channel or with individual R, G & B channels, that feature is missing. There is a 3rd-party action you can download for free, though, which creates R, G & B channels - google on "Viewing Channels in Photoshop Elements" and that should turn it up. The one other feature it lacks is that it can only work with RGB, not CMYK, and only in 8-bit, not 16-bit or higher. But aside from those issues, it is a very good product for the price, and I love that it's a standalone program, hasn't (yet!) become subscription-only like the full Photoshop.I was worried by the 1-star reviews that said they couldn't get it to validate and/or to download, but took a chance, and had no problems at all. The validation code, the acquiring of the serial number, and the download and activation thankfully all went smoothly and quickly. Maybe already having an Adobe account, as I had, helps - could be worth setting one up first if you don't have one already.

Seems OK but I think there's a problem with F1 in advanced mode.

This is an excellent product that can be bought as a one off. I played around with it for a while in order to learn about its tools and what it can do. As a beginner and an amateur I have been able to improve a lot of my photos before getting them printed. Removing objects or removing backgrounds can do a lot for my pictures. It’s great and I can only highly recommend it. Do not hesitate, just buy it as you will not regret it. But be patient and practice first before making permanent changes.

This software is complete rubbish, it is an Adobe con to get you to subscribe to a monthly payment. I purchased it to enhance a video, which the write up said it did, but when you try to use it an Adobe pop up appears saying you can't use the video application unless you upgrade to their Premier version, which is a monthly charge and of course Amazon make it virtually impossible to return or get your money back In short DO NOT BUY THIS

Having used an old version of Photoshop for many years, I was surprised to get a totally different interface with nothing familiar! I had to go online and look for tutorials to get to use quickly. I would not advise purchasing this for what seems very easy and intuitive to use.
