Why has my TDS increased? Is my water contaminated?

No. This is normal. Most TDS meters measure the conductivity of a liquid and are not a reliable indicator of water quality. Combine these with other testing methods such as chlorine and/or heavy metal testing strips for a better idea of efficiency.

Why do I need to "prime" the filters?

It is important that the filters are fully submerged and left to soak, this will saturate the filtration media and prevent "channelling".

What is "Channelling"?

Water will always flow through the easiest pathway. Think of a winding stream. If the filters are not saturated then the water will make its own way and potentially bypass some of the filter media.

What is the difference between the 2-candle and 4-candle options?

The 8.5L and 12L systems allow a maximum of four filter candles to be installed. Installing 4 filters will double the filtration speed and usage capacity which is better for high use environments such as events or families of 4+

Will the filters reduce/remove limescale?
