I have been using a Kenwood water filter jug for years but the original Kenwood cartridges are no longer available. I read other reviews of the LAICA cartridges but although some users had expressed concerns over this brand I decided to go ahead and order some, not least because alternative choices were pretty thin on the ground. The price was OK and free delivery was offered, so the risk seemed small.The cartridges are fairly light in weight (a comment made by some other reviewers) indicating that they use a different type of filter granules from the old Kenwood cartridges, but they seem to work without any problems and certainly improve the taste of the water. I shall now continue to use this brand and buy some more in the near future. How can other brands justify the high prices? Well, they have no competitors on the high street. So thank-you LAICA I can have filtered water at a fraction of the cost. They do let out a little of the charcoal but the seal on my LAICA jug keeps it separate from the filtered water. I got my first as a jug with four filters and added another box of six from Amazon as I found I couldn't get filters to fit my old Kenwood jug on the high street. I'm very happy with the quality and they do have the CE standard of approval. An all round winner in my opinion. The LAICA jug has a reminder on it to change the filter one month on, simple and effective which my Kenwood didn't have so if you are ready for a new jug have a look at the LAICA jugs on Amazon before shelling out for a more expensive brand.

Yes, these are cheaper than the big name brands but there is a difference in quality. I noticed straight away that the water goes through the filter very quickly compared with other types, which makes me think they don't actually have much inside. As a result, we get much more limescale build-up in the kettle than with say Brita or Boots filters, which seem better packed with filling, and take a while to filter the water.If you live in a hard water area, I'd think twice about these, but they're probably OK elsewhere if you just want to improve the taste of tap water. It's probably fair to say you get what you pay for.

Those with Kenwood and other water filters that aren't Brita may, like me, have been relying on Brita's 'universal' filters for some time, because they were much easier to find than the other brands. But a while ago Brita stopped selling 'universal' filters, presumably assuming that they'd be able to sell one of their own jugs to all the people who had been left stranded. Now Laica have stepped up, and their product offers quality which is just as good as any other filter I've used before. I should say, particularly as it's been mentioned as a problem in another review, that Brita filters also 'let through' quite a lot of water the first few times they're used; if you follow the instructions on the packaging, and soak the filter in water for a while first, then go through a couple of complete cycles before you use the filtered water, these Laica filters behave just like the now unavailable Brita ones, and quickly 'slow down' as the filter-filling swells with use. The non-Brita jug community can feel confident that this is a thoroughly reliable substitute for their old brand, and resist Brita's attempt to completely dominate their market.

Another substitute that doesn't do the job right. Got it for brita filter and it just doesn't cope with hard water. After just over a week the limescale starts building up in the kettle and water is full of tiny particles of it. It shouldn't normally happen for at least two more weeks, very disappointing.

I haven't tried it yet as it just arrived this morning and guess what?There are only 5 cartridge in the pack after openning it! Yes, 5!I then contacted Customer service and they asked me to send it back for a replacement. I also asked them whether they could send me another one but they said they couldn't do it.So my advice is, if this is the manufacture defect, it could happen again. Then you should get your finger crossed.

We were looking around Spanish shops for filters and felt they were a bit on the expensive side - looked on Amazon [...],found what we wanted, did the usual worrying bit about if they were truly universal, ordered anyway - result? - free delivery, very speedy service, - product ideal for the job and much cheaper than the same locally - could ramble on a bit but won't! regards: alcox

I am very pleased with these filters, which arrived quickly and fit my old Kenwood jug perfectly. They work very well and the filtered water is good to drink and good for tea. I would buy them again.

Prodotto ottimo per qualità prezzo. Preso perchè compatibile con caraffe Laica Body Form. L'acqua filtrata ha sapore leggermente differente dai filtri originali. La confezione è arrivata schiacciata ma per fortuna nessun filtro è stato danneggiato.

Leider gilt nicht grundsätzlich, dass Original besser als Nachbau!Hier ist es aber so, dass mache ich fest an der Haltbarkeit einer Patrone.Vier Wochen (im Wasser!) ist kein Problem.Auch die Durchflusseigenschaften sind dann noch okay..

Achat conseillé, très bon rapport qualité prix. bien moins cher que Matra et de meilleur qualité. Filtre utilisé en région très calcaire et donc très utiles pur cafetière et bouilloire. depuis celles ci non plus besoin d'être détartées

Convient très bien à ma carafe LAÏCA achetée chez Carrefour.Observation en réponse au commentaire ci-haut. A savoir qu'un filtre requiert le passage de 2 carafes d'eau de rinçage pour amorcer le filtre et éviter les résidus noirs. C'est ensuite que nous pouvons consommer une bonne eau filtrée.
