Superb - just check your 2G and 5G networks aren't combined!
Bought one of these clever little gadgets to pair with an Amazon Alexa dot in my media room. Nothing quite beats being able to turn on all the lights using voice control after watching a good movie :-)As others have said, setting it up can be temperamental if you have a WiFi network that is combined 2G and 5G (like a BT Smart Hub, for example). The solution is to separate the two channels so that they run as two distinct WiFi channels rather than combined. Once you've done this, set up is a breeze. My only criticism is the manual supplied with this - like many Chinese-made gadgets - uses such tiny print that no one over the age of 30 will be able to read it! I had to download a PDF of the manual off the internet to be able to read it. The Chinese clearly think everyone has 20/20 zoom vision!Adding the Alexa 'Skill' is pretty easy too - I was turning lights on and off in my media room in no time at all! Really, really impressed - I shall definitely be buying more of these :)

Works Really Well for my Water Pump
Love this device. I use the timer function (through the app) to control the water pump in my house so that after a certain time it switches off power to the pump so it doesn't make a noise in the middle of the night and wake everyone up.Was only really bothered about the timer function when I first purchased but find the fact I can override the timer (if I want a late/early shower) really useful. I just have to use the app on my phone or say "Alexa, turn the pump on" and it works perfectly.

We bought the echo as a high quality bluetooth/internet music player and have subsequently been really pleased with all her other skills
I bought this to link to our Alexa echo as an experiment really. We bought the echo as a high quality bluetooth/internet music player and have subsequently been really pleased with all her other skills, so have taken this first step into the 'smart home' world. The socket was extremely easy to link to the Smartlife app then to the Alexa app. Altogether it took about 45 minutes which includes the waiting time from registering it on the Smartlife app to enabling it via Alexa. At the moment we are reaping the benefits of Alexa turning our electric blanket on without our having to move away from the heating. She will next be turning our lights on and off while we are away. Highly recommend.

Cheap rubbish: never finds the device to set up
Rubbish. Wasted an hour trying to get it to connect. Judging by the shoddy way the app is written it’s clear this is a low grade item. It would never sync and set up. There are two versions of the app: one under “smart life” and the other “tuya app”. Same crap, one uses a blue box and the other an orange - both have messed up field sizing and bad grammar; both fail to find the socket in the same time wasting way

Great and simple smart plug.
I've got this plug for my new lamp mainly so I can turn it on using Google Assistant. It is fairly easy to install. I personally had few problems with my WiFi network as I was using same SSID for both 2.4 and 5 Ghz, but that was an easy fix. There is really nothing much to say about it. It just works, it looks great and it is compact. Overall very good experience.

Really handy
These work great. They have a few bugs and changing WIFI networks can take a while but overall I would recommend these. We have loads of connected devices (Ring doorbell, Hue, Nest, Logitech Circle etc) and found that these helped turn a few of our lamps (stuff we cant stick a Hue into) into Hue style lights.

Nice small basic device - works week
Nice that this is small and not bulky like others. Took some time to set up, else I’d have given 5 stars, believe it only works in 2.4Ghz and there was no “smart plug” device in the selection category when setting it up.

Upside down?
This is great, but - it’s upside down. The button to toggle the device is on the bottom, and all the regulatory labelling is on the top. Also the little indicator light is at the bottom, so it’s generally hidden behind the cable of whatever you plug into it. I’ve no idea why. It’s as if it was designed by someone who’s only ever seen a picture of a UK plug socket, and had it up the wrong way!The inability to operate on a 2.4g/5g network using the same SSID is a bit of a pain too.But - it does what it claims to, the app is much nicer designed than I expected, and IFTTT integration is easy.
