PLAYSEAT® Challenge X - Logitech G Edition

This is a review of the Playseat Challenge X (bought about 3 months ago) paired with the Logitech G923 wheel and pedals for use with a PlayStation 5. Points to note for prospective buyers: - I specifically wanted a seat that I could fold away and store in another room when not in use, with the steering wheel and pedals still attached. This lets me do that and it doesn’t take up much floor space when folded. - As such, it probably doesn’t have the bulk and stability of the fixed seats, but this is to be expected. - Not cheap, especially given its “light weight” folding-design construction. There seems to be a fair amount of plastic used but the metal tubular frame works as expected. - It has sufficient adjustments to accommodate my parents and my young niece and nephew, and for our average weight and height it seems quite stable and adequate. I’d highly recommend for anyone that wants a seat that folds away and can be moved elsewhere around the home.

Meets our needs perfectly. Installing the Thrustmaster T248 wheel and pedals was rather easy. Folding and moving is easy enough to do a couple of times a day. Just unplugging the cables, and everything else remains on the seat. We even have a Razer Freyja which gets folded in as well. The seat itself is wide enough to feel very sturdy, and narrow enough to fit in the gap we have for it. The only thing missing is a proper handbrake/shifter holder. The one in the box puts the shifter way too high.

I read the reviews a number of times before I purchased. My expectations were not too high, but from the moment I opened the box I was delighted with the quality of the product. Yes when you play the game there can be a tiny bit of movement but it is unnoticeable. The chair is comfortable and this gets 5 stars easily. This is a purchase that has surpassed expectations for me.

The Playseat has been around for ages now and this new version adds a few quality of life improvements. No more straps to adjust for the angle makes it easier to get in and out of, but maybe reduces the granularity of adjustment. The gear stick holder is a nice addition as well. I've got an old G25 wheel on it, but it'll fit pretty much anything. Bit pricey maybe but it's the best folding seat option around and if you have a 3d printer there are a wealth of assesories available.

The seat is great and folds up well. It’s very comfortable and I have played long sessions without any issues. Unfortunately, Playseat have clearly cheaped out on some of the parts — and these aren’t expensive parts either — they’re literally saving pennies overall. For one, the screws that you use to adjust pedal distance from your feet are plastic. They frequently come loose and makes set up/fold up more painful than it needs to be. The threads definitely are not going to last. If they used metal screws instead this wouldn’t be an issue. The catch that locks the steering wheel to the seat is also plastic. It also comes loose, sometimes while driving in the game. Again, this should have been metal. There is another screw that you use to adjust steering wheel height. Again — plastic, also comes loose. Do you see a pattern? Finally there is a strap they have included which you can use to tie the pedals to the seat when you fold it up. Except it’s much too short — they could have spared like three extra inches and it would have been fine. No idea how that even passed QA, I have to use my own. All in all, decent product but poor execution because they wanted to make more pennies on the margin…

Perfect match with the G923, easy install and play fun

O assento é muito bom. A qualidade das peças surpreende. Uso ele com o Logitech pro e fica muito bom. Claro que tem um leve jogo onde está a base do volante, mas não incomoda. Funciona muito bem com tudo Logitech pois tudo se encaixa perfeitamente. A conveniência deste produto é ser dobrável e a hora que não quero mais ele em um local, retiro.

El producto es lo esperado. Incluso bastante más robusto de lo que pensaba. Las chapas son gordas y resistentes. El asiento, pese a ser de tela es muy cómodo. Va acolchado y lo puedes regular bastante. Yo estoy usando un Cammus C5 direct drive y unos pedales de celula de carga (200Kg) simsonn pro plus y perfecto. Lo aguanta sin inmutarse. Aunque los agarres los he reforzado con bridas, por que con estos pedales más vale prevenir, ya que hay que hacer mucha fuerza. Lleva una barra para ponerle un cambio de marchas y freno de mano. Pero yo prefería meterle un mod impreso en 3D para el cambio en H. El freno de mano lo agarré directo al chasis. El resultado es bastante cómodo y funcional. plegarlo cuesta un minuto y después lo guardo debajo de la cama, y el cockpit a desaparecido. Es muy práctico. Un punto negativo, son las roscas para la distancia de los pedales, son de plástico y estoy seguro que por ahí, más tarde o más temprano va a romper. Deberían de ser metálicas si o si. Lo demás perfecto. Destacable el servicio de Amazon. Ya que tuve problemas con el transportista y ellos me lo solucionaron rápidamente. Y es por la atención al cliente, que sigo comprando aquí. No por los precios en si. Saludos!

Excelente opcion para poder jugar tus juegos de carreras, sobre todo por que esta version de playseat challenge te deja configurar la silla a diferentes alturas cosa que el Challenge normal no, ademas de que puedes igual configurar diferente angulo para los pedales tambien. Definitivamente es un upgrade respecto a la version Challenge normal, lo que si es que hay que apretar mas, con cuidado de no pasarse de demasiada presion los tornillos de las manijas azules de bloqueo de posicion de altura o configuracion de altura de la silla, ya que si aguanta los 122kg pero sino estan bien apretados esos tornillos no aprieta bien y se gira las roscas y hace que se vayan al nivel mas bajo por el peso, Yo peso 100kg y me paso la primera vez que me sente, despues aprete mas y listo juego sin problemas por horas. Lo recomiendo totalmente!!! ojala se lograra que bajara un poco mas a su precio de salida original, pero me imagino sube el precio ya que ya no es tan facil conseguirlo ya no lo venden en cualquier parte y para Mexico menos, sin embargo aqui me parecio un precio decente en comapracion de otros muchos lugares donde lo busque y, o no lo tenian ya de ninguna manera o costaba bastante mas que aqui en Amazon. Por algo no es facil de conseguir ya que es un excelente Producto y Opcion!!!

Liebe Leserinnen und Leser, nach nun eingängiger Nutzung des Playseat Challenge X Logitech G Edition möchte ich Ihnen meine Kurzrezension zur Verfügung stellen. Qualitätsanmutung/Aufbau Das Paket ist erstaunlich kompakt, wobei ich mir das ja auch erhofft habe. Grundsätzlich ist oder war mir bereits vor dem Kauf klar, dass das Playseat Challenge natürlich ein Kompromiss, aber eben auch die einzige Lösung für mich war oder ist. Wir besitzen zwar ein kleines Büro, aber mein Ziel war eher, dass ich eben etwas kompaktes und transportables und eben nicht was festes haben wollte. Massive und nicht transportable Lösungen sind natürlich stabiler und vermutlich auch variabler. Je nach eingesetztem Equipment muss man hier vermutlich auch schauen, ob das hier vorliegende Playseat Challenge überhaupt Sinn ergibt, denn wenn man sich ein teures Setup mit weit mehr als 8 Nm kaufen möchte, dann sollte die Stabilität und Wertigkeit an erster Stelle liegen. Wer also das Playseat Challenge X Logitch G Edition kaufen möchte, sollte auch schauen, dass sein Equipment nicht „over the top“ ist und somit gar nicht einsetzbar. Das Auspacken und Zusammensetzen war relativ einfach. Die einzelnen Schritte werden sehr gut im Heft beschrieben. Ich empfehle den Zusammenbau mit insgesamt 2 Personen, aber es geht auch alleine (wenn man geschickt ist). Die Verarbeitung ist meiner Meinung nach tadellos. Was mir komisch vorkam war die Tatsache, dass ich an irgendeinem Punkt eigentlich noch 8 Schrauben haben sollte, allerdings waren dann aber nur noch 6 da und ich bin jeden einzelnen Schritt zurückgegangen und da war nichts falsch oder zu viel montiert. Der Lieferumfang hat daher nicht gepasst, daher dies gleich mal überprüfen. Ich konnte dann aber mit weniger Schrauben mein G29 von Logitech (Anfängersetup – mir klar) befestigen und das alles hält gut. Insgesamt ist das Setup von mir (Sitz und Logitech G29) eine günstige Lösung, aber sie macht mir derzeit auf jeden Fall Spaß.m Das Aufstellen und wieder Zusammenklappen des Sitzes geht echt schnell von der Hand. Wenn man mal grob weiß wie weit die Fußpedalerie entfernt sein muss, dann geht der Aufbau wie auch der Abbau innerhalb von nicht einmal 1 Minute. Man sitzt auch mit nicht ganz 100kg sehr bequem im Sitz und da hält alles was es auch halten soll. Nachteile gibt es natürlich auch. Die Einstellmöglichkeiten beim Sitzen selbst sind natürlich etwas eingeschränkt, aber sie reichen aus. Das Lenkrad bzw. die Halterung dazu ist durchaus ausreichend stabil, aber eben nicht für alles und jedes Lenkrad auf diesem Markt. Wenn es mal in den Fortgeschrittenenbereich mit vielen Nm Drehmoment geht, dann wird es vermutlich schon arg schwächeln. Die Pedalerie ist soweit auch stabil, aber generell sollte man die Schraubklemmen (aus Plastik) nicht zu fest zudrehen, denn nach fest und ganz fest kommt eben ab. Die Pedalerie wird mittels Schnalle befestigt. Hierzu muss man wissen, dass man das Lenkrad bis an die Grenze einklappen muss, damit die Pedalerie auch gut und ausreichend befestigt wird. Das Gestell ist dann aber in meiner Konstellation gut mobil und vor allem auch nicht allzu schwer. Ich trage es dann nach der Nutzung vom Wohnzimmer (da steht der OLED) ins Büro und das geht ohne Probleme. Ich bin am Überlegen mein Setup irgendwann aufzurüsten und auch hier gibt es noch Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten (Fanatec, etc.) die sicherlich gut halten und den Sitz nicht an die vollkommenen Grenzen bringen. Derweil bin ich mit dem Setup echt zufrieden und vor allem mach GT7 und/oder ACC damit auf der PS5 mehr Spaß als eben mit dem Controller. So etwas muss man sich aber eben leisten wollen und können, denn das ist natürlich ein Luxusprodukt, welches man nicht zwingend für den Spielspaß benötigt (den Controller hat man ja eh), aber es macht eben einfach viel mehr Spaß als mit dem Controller. Fazit: Ich bin damit sehr zufrieden und nutze den Sitz nun auch ein paar Wochen. Es gibt bis dato keinen Verschleiß, den ich feststellen kann. Der Aufbau, dass Zusammenlegen bzw. das Aufstellen gehen flüssig von der Hand und nerven mich zumindest nicht sonderlich. Die Qualität und vor allem auch das Platzangebot ist ausreichend gut und man sitzt echt bequem. Derzeit kann ich den Sitz auch bei diesem Preis nur mit 5 Sternen bewerten. Sollte sich hier noch etwas in den nächsten Monaten ergeben, werde ich meine Rezension dahingehend gerne überarbeiten.
