Good quality supplement
This supplement meets all my criteria for quality. It's pure and free of additives and fillers, which actually seems to be the norm in the Omega 3 supplement world, so I'm glad this product doesn't stray from that standard. The recommended dose ranges from 1 to 3 capsules, but I find that 2 capsules provide the perfect dosage for me, consistent with similar products available. At this dosage, a single container would last me 45 days. Additionally, the company manufactures the product in the UK and promises that each batch is purified and tested for toxins, which adds further appeal. With a best-before date of March 2026, there's plenty of time to use the product. Overall, I'm satisfied with its quality and would recommend it.

Good levels of EPA & DHA
I've taken various Omega-3 capsules over many years, most recently Krill Oil. I thought I'd give Purolabs Omega 3 Fish Oil a try because of their relatively high concentrations of EPA (330mg) and DHA (220mg) per capsule. One of the draws of this product for me was the fact that it is derived from anchovies fished in the South Pacific sea. Purity is very important, so it was important to me that the source was a less contaminated part of the globe, and the fact that each batch is tested by a third-party to confirm purity and concentration. The first thing I'd say is that there was a very slight fishy smell when I opened the container. Not too bad, but I'd rather no smell because it could be a sign that there has been a leakage or something has gone off. So I opened one of the capsules, and again there was a slight smell, but it did not smell rancid to me, which is very important (rancid oil is very bad for you). The capsule container is thin and easy to store / post through your letterbox. There is a freshness seal, which is good. Once opened, it doesn't need to be stored in a fridge. The capsules are on the larger side: roughly 25mm long and 9mm in diameter, so may not be easy for some people to swallow. I didn't notice any fishy aftertaste when taking them, and so far I have not had any bad reaction to any of them, which is another good sign for fish oil.

COntradicting description on the packaging
I recently tried out this fish oil supplement, and I'm pretty pleased with it overall. It's good quality and easy to use. The balance of EPA and DHA is just right for me, especially since I prefer more EPA.The packaging is well-designed and handy to carry around. It came sealed, and inside, there are 90 transparent capsules filled with oil.One thing that impressed me is that I didn't experience any burping after taking the capsules, which can be a concern with fish oil supplements. As for the taste there is none unless you open one of them which I did and , while the oil inside the capsules had a distinct fish flavour, it wasn't unpleasant or too strong, matching what I expected from the product. However, there's a slight discrepancy in the product description regarding the EPA and DHA content, which could be clearer and more consistent. 990mg and 660mg which is based on the amount of soft gels you take but still it should be clearer.Despite this, I find the supplement effective and reliable. It provides the essential omega-3s I need without any discomfort. Overall, it's a good product that delivers what it promises.

This product doesn't convince me very much
This product doesn't convince me very much, for 3 reasons, the first of which is not clear which fish sources it comes from, for example cod liver? salmon? sardines etc. 2 because inside the pills there are other substances besides fish oil, 3 the pills are really huge, for now I've been taking them for a week and for such a short time I can't tell if they have an effect or not

Confusing information about the product
The consumption of Omega-3 implies a long list of benefits for your health (brain, heart, bones, immune systemt, etc). From the three types of omega-3, humans are usually deficient in EPA and DHA. They are what we are looking for in an omega-3 supplement. Thus, when you are going to purchase this kind of products, you need to check that it contains EPA and DHA and the quantity for each one. Some brands sell Omega-3 supplements without including one of those ingredients or including both but in small amount. It’s worth to double check that as it could influence the price that you pay for that supplement.Regarding Purolabs Omega 3 Fish Oil, the label at the back of the product informs that one softgel contains 1,000 mg of fish oil, from which 330mg of EPA and 220mg of DHA. This means that one softgel provides 550mg EPA/DHA. We could understand that the remaining part of the capsule is made of the other ingredients listed in the label (gelatin -Cowhide, Halal-, glycerine, purified water and fish oil). I’ve checked the official website of Purolabs to verify this information. At the top of the page, it confirms that one softgel contains that amount of EPA/DHA. However, the Frequently Asked Questions section adds some confusion and refers to “Two softgels will give you 1000mg of omega-3 (that's 660mg EPA & 440mg DHA), more than an entire tin of sardines”. It seems that now two softgels (not one) provides 1000mg of omega-3, but even more confusing is when it mentions that those two capsules contains 1,100mg of EPA and DHA (if they stated that the two capsules contains 1000mg of omega-3 how it’s possible that they could provides 1,100 EPA/DHA). I think that this is an example how companies try to play with the product information for the purpose of marketing and they sabotage themselves. Customers should be able to rely on information provided by the manufacturer. It’s a shame that Purolabs add so much confusion about its product. The concentration of EPA/DHA contained in omega-3 supplements usually fluctuates between 30% to 90%, depending on the manufacturer. The level of concentration is obviously reflected in the product price. Most people don’t need the higher concentration of Omega-3s, the regular fish oil supplements should just be enough. I haven’t found any government recommendation in the UK of how much omega-3 we need. The UK government dietary advice just recommends people should eat two 140g (cooked weight) portions of fish a week (one of these being an oily fish) [see NHS website]. This advice has allowed to estimate a roughly amount of 450mg Omega-3s per day [see British Heart Foundation website]. As mentioned before the information about this product is confusing, but accepting the statement from the back label of the product, one capsule of Purolabs Omega-3 supplement might provide 550mg of EPA/DHA. This should be enough to cover your Omega-3 daily need. The product suggests 1 to 3 capsules per day. I’m currently taking just one per day. You might opt for a higher dose depending on your needs or your doctor’s suggestion. The title of this product on the website wrongly mentions that the product contains “60 capsules”, but actually the front label of the product refers to 90 capsules (this number matches with the one provided in the official website of this product). Also the title mentions the following amounts: “660mg EPA 440mg DHA per Serving”. I understand that that amount would be in case that you take 2 capsules per day. By contrast, the front label of this product underlines “990mg EPA & 660mg DHA per Serving” which I understand it is the equivalent to take three capsules per day. Basically, the seller and the brand are presenting the information according to different parameters what it could be a bit confusing.Purolabs states that this omega-3 supplement is sourced from wild-caught anchovies from the South Pacific which offer a healthier natural fat profile. Additionally, they claim that each batch is fully traceable and certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), plus third party tested for purity and potency to ensure they are free from contaminents like PCBs and heavy metals. Based on my experience, I could confirm that I don’t feel any fishy aftertaste. Finally, I would like to emphasis that the content of this review cannot be taken as any health advice. I’m not qualified for that purpose. This review only refers to personal views and general information available in the Internet. Please consult your doctor in case of any question about the consumption of this kind of supplements. Don’t take this review or any other one on the Internet as science based opinions. Regarding Purolabs omega-3 supplement, the information provided in the product and the Internet seem a bit confusing in some aspects. This is frustrating, even more if it’s a health product. I cannot comment on the effects on the product as it’s too early for that.
