What If We Could Teach and Learn Better in a Connected World?
Connections-Based Learning is a fantastic introduction for educators struggling to make sense of our ultra-connected world. Sean Robinson's book not only introduces concepts and comfort to survive in the rapidly changing digital world of global education, it provides a framework for success. Part personal story, part instruction manual, Connections-Based Learning is full of advice, encouragement, and connections to get you and your students learning more collaboratively and with a critical lens for engaging and relevant learning experiences.

Should be included on every new teacher's reading list.
Students should be connecting with more strangers on the Internet (and beyond!) and teachers should help make it happen. Really. This is the controversial but "Why didn't I think of that" premise of Connections Based Learning.Robinson outlines an approach to teaching that posits that true, transformative teaching in the modern age should include the three C's of "connect, collaborate, and cultivate." This is not a technical manual about software tools, but a treatise on the power of having students connect with global experts and other students through the 21st-century tools available in the modern classroom. The book is a quick read; as accessible as it is helpful. It is my hope that teacher training programs and homeschooling organizations will start adding this book to their reading lists sooner than later. Modern education will be the better for it.

An inspiring read about what education could look like when students pursue real-life problems that require them to connect with the community, their peers, and experts in the field. The author has done a terrific job sharing stories that will resonate with educators to provide hope and possibilities for a better future.
