How many years is the warranty ? Most other retailers stating 5 years. Can you please advise .

As far as I know the warranty, as shown on the Amazon listing for this item, is 12 months.Mine did not fail within the first 12 months, and I did not expect it to !I hope that it will last for a good many years yet, until hard drives are finally superseded by some other improved form of mass storage.This is an 'enterprise' class hard drive, which promises a long life-time, from an experienced and reputable manufacturer, Western Digital, so I believe that it should be a reliable product.

Good reliable drives, but....

Great reliable drives - currency have 4 running raid 5 for capacity and speed. (Not the quietist drives ;-) I buy them as they are server rated, and have a 5 year warranty from WD - Should they become required, advance replacements are available.NOTE that the last drive supplied and fulfilled by AMAZON UK, shows as an OUT OF REGION drive when registering for the 5 year warranty on the WD Support Site. (i.e. it was intended for sale in a region other than the UK) -Having called WD, they will change the warranty status for up to 5 'Out of Region' drives per customer, per year - But you have to call them, set up a 'case' and emailed them your invoice. (The UK support number is 00800 27549338)What a totally unnecessary palaver....

Long wait for the wrong drive

This is pretty awful. Waited weeks for the wrong drive to turn up, and it looks used!
