We bought this FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer as a Christmas gift for our son to go with his new sous vide, and he was thrilled! He immediately noticed how well it works and how easy it is to use. The automatic bag detection is convenient, and it gives a tight, reliable seal every time. The bags that come with the unit were nice and thick and ready to handle hours in a sous vide bath. I've had this for 4 years now and it is the most wonderful vacuum sealer I've ever had. Still works like a top. Easy to use ,fast and replacement bag roll's aren't expensive.

I been using FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer Machines for over 20 yrs. My Old machine quit 6 months ago and I bought this one. It works much better, there are improvements which means liquid will not get pulled into the pump like the old machine. This one is not near as load, has the separate seal button which is a big plus. It does everything it says it would and all that I want. Seals better than the old model. It came with the Accessory Hose but the design has changed and the new hose doesn't work with all my old attachments or devices. Also it has the it comes with a hand held sealer. It didn't have one. It would have been much nicer if they hadn't left it out of the package. So one star off for the missing sealer.

The best household FoodSaver on the market. Had one for 5 years, used almost daily when it finally didn't work quite as it used to. Ordered a different brand same price, super disappointing need a PhD in vacuum seal, need a PhD in vavuum sealing . I ordered another brand , what a joke that was, so gave both away after trying it out. Ordered the same FoodSaver I used to have which is identical to this item being reviewed. It arrived with a small defect, the cutter was malfunctioning I asked for a replacement of the machine which arrived 2 days later and returned the defective one. It work perfect, just the way I was used to with the old one. Sadly, I wasted $200 only to find out l should have stuck with FoodSaver brand all along.

So far, so good! I've used it quite a bit and I don't think it's ever malfunctioned like a couple of the others I bought on Amazon. It does what it's supposed to do, and that is to suck the air out of the bag and seal it. It has a slightly wider sealing strip, but it does not do a double seal, but you could do that yourself. I had vacuum sealed a bunch of shrimp a month or so ago, and, of course, put it in the freezer... Today I had a nice snack, the dipping sauce was Mr. Yoshida's Gourmet Sauce. The only weird thing is that I vacuum sealed corn on the cob for the fridge, and the bags became bloated with air, yet still sealed. This machine is simple to use and doesn't have a bunch of features that you don't need.

After what feels like looking at EVERY vacuum sealer on the market, I finally found this one that had great reviews and was a good price. I had bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. We needed a vacuum sealer for all of the fish and game meat that we both brought home. When weighing options, I wanted something that was sturdy, had exceptional suction to get all of the air out, a strong seal, and something that could do both wet and dry foods. This meets and exceeds all of our expectations. It works well, is quick, and always has a great seal. The machine itself is easy to clean / wipe down and comes with a removable drip tray in case some juices squeak out. It is not the quietest machine, but I don't mind.
