Fragments (Alabaster Penitentiary)

After finishing Brainwashed I thought I was prepared for Fragments and what Nyla had in store , boy was I wrong. I usually read books fast but Fragments has taken me 5 days because I kept going back rereading parts even whole chapters because I was say saying wtaf happened there . Ok so now I’m finished but after reading the afterword I need to go back to Joyless and see what I missed so I’ll be listening to that soon. Don’t think for one minute you are prepared for Fragments because you won’t be and it will leave you with even more questions than answers typical Nyla K style.

Ren and Luthor....match made in heaven or hell?I loved these characters so much. Getting to see Ren's past, you get to understand the person, which heightens everything about him. Luthor? Well, in previous books, for me, he seemed wiser and together. In this, you see the young naive person, which made my heart melt. There is so much to their story both in and out of the prison, past and present.BUT!!!! The bit that got me crazy excited is figuring out all the Easter eggs in the book! There are so many times I went back into previous books to work out little snippets of information. This is book 4, which means only two more before we know why all these guys are in this prison and who The Ivory is. I have my theories, but knowing Ms. Nyla, I'll probably question them right up to the last chapter of book 6.Is it my favorite of the series? Probably not. Does it give more insight into the overarching story? Absolutely. There is so much in this book that you need to make a full picture of the alabaster penitentiary.Also, shout out to the Cyrus, Colson and Tauren cross over. Loved those boys so freaking much.

Nyla K is an amazing writer and nobody can tell me otherwise.I love her big books. I love this series particularly because she makes you fall in love with each of the couples until they feel like family.I don’t ever review books with spoilers because I think everyone should go into every book blind(after reading trigger warnings of course). I have authors I love and who have never disappointed me and Nyla K is definitely one of them.

Complex, fast, compelling. As always with Nylas book - hot as hell. Read in order! Then reread for all the Easter eggs

Have been dying for Ren and Lex story since the beginning of the series, whilst it is not dark like the other books you certainly are entertained.Really on edge to see where the plot of this series is going and to have the next book ASAP as left with many questions.

Really liked this book, read it on KU though and there were a lot of spelling / grammar mistakes. I listened to the others on Audible so I don't know if the rest in the series were the same or not.That said, it didn't take away from the story. I enjoyed that the book continued to follow along the same timeline as the other books in the series and continued to fill in some more of the gaps from the other stories, however I was a bit put off by how much the time lines jumped back and forth between the past and present... That's possibly just a me problem, but I find that difficult to follow at times.I loved Ren & Luthor's story tho and I love that although currently a HEA, it has still ended with a cliffhanger and I can't wait for the next book in the series to be released.Also liked the crossover with Double Edged and glad I had already read that and already knew the back story when those characters came into it.

Fragments by Nyla K, in the fourth book Luthor and Ren get to have their intense love story.I have been waiting for this book since Distorted (Book 1) and I am in awe of Nyla K's writing and genius mind. Nyla has written the masterpieces with the Alabaster Penitentiary series. Every book has its own vibe and crazy amazing love story. I love every one of them.Fragments have become my favorite. Before it was Dash & Kemper's story Distorted.Warren Xavier - REN is every man's dream (outside), inside his mind is another story. I feel you, my dear Ren and I love you till the end of time. He has so many issues that this book is only the tip of the iceberg. He is an arsonist, liar, and the most misunderstood character I have read about. He uses sex as a substitute to fill the void in his soul until he meets Luthor. The sweetest and the most lovable man in AP. Oh boy, do they have “fireworks” in their story during 4-5 years, finally coming together in the future? Love scenes are so hot and honest between them.Lex “Luthor” Deon is the sweetest and the most loyal person Ren meets in prison and in his life. He is obsessed from first sight and he thinks that Lex “Luthor” is too perfect to be in the dungeon. Luthor is a genius and hacker, the reason why he was brought to this prison. We do not know the whole story because the author will reveal it all in good time.I love how obsessed and in love Ren is and that he did not give up when he messed up. I love everything in Lex and how he loved Ren no matter what. It was something only in this book I somehow admired. In real life, it is not so easy to understand.Nyla K, you have created the “monsters” who are shimmering diamonds. I am absolutely in love with both Lex and Ren. I love every book Nyla K writes. I highly recommend reading all the books in this series, especially this one. There will be more …

I absolutely adored the entire Alabaster Pen series! The spice in book four was INCREDIBLE, but didn’t detract from the incredible story at all. There is darkness, mystery, mayhem, and an underlying theme of love against all odds between two very different MMC’s. Nyla K has quickly made it to my “favorite authors” list. She dives into mental health, love, and dark romance in a way I haven’t seen many authors manage. I love how beautifully she ties all the themes together and creates a world and characters you can really envision being real. I can’t wait to read more!

I was lucky enough to receive an arc copy of Fragments. I've been anxiously waiting for Ren and Luthors story since I first started Distorted. I highly recommend starting this series from the beginning, and reading the books in order. There are so many little Easter eggs throughtout, that you don't wanna miss.For those familiar with the series, we knew the relationship between these two wouldn't be easy. There was alot of push and pull, see what I did there lol. Alot of built up sexual tension. I had to know what happend with them before Dash arrived, it had been heavily hinted that there was some form of relationship, that went off course. Reading through their journey was more than worth the wait. I got answers to questions I've had since book 1, and i was left with a whole new set of questions by the end. All in due time, I have no doubts everything will come together in the end and leave us reeling. I laughed, I cried, I screamed and almost threw the kindle, my heart broke for both of them. And the spice *chefs kiss*, well ofcourse its a Nyla K book. Definitely my two favorite characters from the series, though Dash and Kemper are very close second. There's just something about Ren and Luthor that pulled me in, right from the beginning of this mind altering series. I can't wait to see more of them throughout the rest of the series. Till then, I'll be doing re reads and crossing my fingers for the audio release.I'm not one to leave reviews, but this one was a must because I really do think everyone needs to read the insanely addictive Alabaster Penitentiary books. As an added bonus the appearance of 3 of my favorite Nyla K characters towards the end, was the cherry on top of this already perfect read. Oh and check your triggers before, but if your already familiar with Nyla K then you know what your in for :)

Ren et Lex have my heart since the very first book, and finally getting their story, past and present was everything I need.Fragments focuses on Ren and the man who stole his heart Lex.Same timeline from the first three books, but I feel like we learn so much more in this one. We finally get some answers, we get to know a lot more of our favorites inmates and guards.I’m in love with Lex since the beginning of the series. He's so kind, loyal, sweet and so unproblematic! And his friendship with Dash is amazing. Ren is a complex character and I can’t help feeling bad for him. His addiction, hopelessness and pain hurt me and despite everything, he's such a funny character. Lex's calm and warm personality completed Ren perfectly. I absolutely loved their dynamic. From this toxic couple to the most adorable couple ever. Their journey was so beautiful, it brought me to tears.One of my favorite MM couple. Complicated, intense but also the cutest.
