Durable and easy to use, perfect size for the amount of rice I need to clean and rinse. The drainage is fine, some rice gets through and thats alright. The design is silver and round and functions like a bowl. Probably best to rinse off dirty fruits.

I have a set of 3 colanders. They are made out of wire mesh. Every time I use them, one of them will stab me in a fingertip. After a couple of years of getting stabbed, I found this Gulex Colander 304 Stainless Steel 4-quart with Mixing Bowl, and it was a great purchase. First off, No Wire Mesh. This colander is smooth stainless steel with holes drilled into the colander sides and a matching mixing bowl that fits perfectly below it to catch any excess liquid instead of it dripping on the floor. Next, did I mention it was stainless steel? Completely dishwasher safe and no steel mesh to catch little bits of food so it has to be hand scrubbed before placed in the dishwasher. Just rinse, place it the dishwasher and go on with cleanup. Heavy duty, it will not flex when full of hot food. It looks small at first glance. In fact, because it comes in a 3-quart and 4-quart size, I thought I had the ordered the 3-quart when I first saw it. It looks small because it is not wide, but tall. It actually fits in my cabinet with no struggle. I am glad I made the purchase.

I needed a bowl for a large individual salad and this one is perfect! The shape and size are ideal.

They work for cold items and not for hot items like pasta or rice. The hole sizes are a good size for the water to drain. Cleaning them are really easy.

Comfortable size, with two bowels, easy to store.

Bowl works fine and it will serve my purposes, but buyer beware it is NOT a 3 quart bowl as described. I ordered the 3 quart version, but the one I received only holds 2 quarts.

What I love is that the Colander and Mixing Bowl are made of stainless steel. I used both to do everything from draining water, forming dough and mixing ingredients.
