Balls to the wind!!, balls to the wind!! Overall a bloody decent and lovely axe. A well proportioned axe head. The eye fits the haft snug, complementing the the radius of the wedge. Running down the haft, the belly has a notch, leading to the throat ( dynamical shape ) ending with a good size end knob. Back to the Head : the shoulders are corresponding and well shaped on both the top and bottom of the Bit. Both the Toe & the Heal's angle of the Bit's edge are relative to the design of the Head. The length of the Bevel too, is a good size. The Bit's beard is in line with its shape and gives you that Viking edge. The Bevel's angle is great - 20/25 degrees and sharp enough to get going. The sheath that fits over the axe's head is leather and well made. A GREAT AXE, COMMENSURATE IN BALANCE AND OVERALL HANDLING.

My axe is good so far. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying the handle was loose and broke after a few swings. Personally I think those people are not right in the head, and doing stupid stuff like trying to use it as a throwing axe. It’s not made to throw, it’s made to cut wood. I took mine out of the box and went directly outside and chopped wood with no problems. The handle did not crack or break, and the head is still tight after about 30 minutes of chopping fire wood. My blade is straight and aligned with the handle and there were not any rust spots like a lot of people are claiming. Also you will have to oil the blade yourself. Only reason I gave it only 4 stars is because I feel like they should have included a pack or small container of blade oil. Also the sheath is well made. It comes with a small booklet that gives care directions and tells you specifically that it is not for throwing. And they give you a way to contact them with any issues so they can fix it.

Perfect balance, fits the hand perfectly. Maintains its edge.

Awesome for the price.

The head is loose and the edge is dull. You can hear the looseness in the video below. This ax seems used? It’s a gift for my camping partner so I’ll let him decide. Feels heavy in my hand but maybe not for a big strong Marine. Just checked the back of the box “MADE IN CHINA”

Well made and quality

It’s a great-looking axe and feels excellent in hand. To get the best out of this axe, the first and most important step is to not use it immediately. Instead, dip the handle in oil for a day or two to hydrate the wood. This will tighten the head and, most importantly, prevent the wood from cracking when chopping. You can use wood oil, or if you're in a pinch like I was, even car oil works perfectly. Secondly, you'll need to sharpen it. The axe has a thick blade, giving you plenty of room for shaping and grinding as needed. While it’s more of a decorative piece, it’s still made from quality wood and carbon steel, so it can be used effectively.

The axe had to be sharpened before use and the quality of the axe wasn’t as expected.
