I like this one better than other brands I've had. It's easier to keep clean, since there are no rims around the bowl that catch grime and hold hard water, etc. The bottle is also the easiest to load of the ones I've had; you can lift it right out and it won't spill, even if it has water in it. The cap is a simple screw top type. I give this product A+ for ease of use and maintenance at a sensible price point.

Simple, easy, effective. We have two dogs, which means a lot of standard water bowl refills. We had a doggy water cooler like this years ago, but it had a larger volume, so it made a "glug" sound, and our dog was scared of it, so we gave it away. With this being only a gallon, there is no loud glug sound and both old and new dogs happily drink out of it at the same time while it is bubbling away. While we refill about every other day, it's nice to have the smaller volume because it's lighter and doesn't take forever to fill. I like the screw on top so there's no element of speed trying to flip fast to prevent spillage. I just bought another one so we can put it in the garage for the summer.

We really like this water dispenser! It’s the perfect size for our two little dogs and works exactly how it should. It keeps the water flowing and saves me from constantly refilling bowls. The only thing is it’s a bit small for our lab, but that’s honestly on me for not paying closer attention to the size before ordering. It still works great, just needs more frequent refills for bigger dogs. Overall, super happy with it and would definitely recommend for small pets!

Works exactly how it’s supposed to. I have a 55-lb pitbull and I refill and clean this about once a week. The gravity mechanism works perfectly—fills up the bowl but doesn’t overflow. I’ll admit I checked in on this multiples times the first 2 days to make sure it wasn’t soaking my floors. Luckily, no such issues. I’ve been using this for 2 months. She still prefers the toilet but what are you gonna do?! Edit 1/13/22 - I've had this one for over 2 years and still LOVE it. Yes, you have to clean it when you refill the water every 5 or so days. That process takes about 5 minutes, but that is totally worth not having to refill something daily. I bought my first waterer and after a couple years, the bottom piece cracked. Water soaked into the fabric pad I have underneath it. I bought a new one in Dec 2019 and have not had any problems. I still consider this a fantastic product, especially for the price. My only wish is to be able to buy the pieces separately in the case that something breaks. When the bottom plastic piece cracked, I asked Amazon if I could purchase just that piece, since the bottle was perfectly fine. They said no so I bought a whole new set. It wasn't about the money, but rather the plastic waste! I've been storing the old bottle in a closet since then. I figure I can use that if something happens to the current one, although I think the bottom plastic is more prone to failure.

This is my second Amazon Basics Gravity Pet Waterer. The first one (purchased in 2020) was wonderful, the dish and bottle connector were molded from a single piece of plastic (which matches the photos shown for this item). The bottle snapped on snugly and was easy to get off when empty, and you didn’t have to rotate it a certain direction to align it with the base. It worked perfectly and did not leak. The only reason I replaced it is because in taking it to my son’s house so he could dog sit for us, someone tripped and fell on top of it, cracking the base of the water dish. I am VERY unhappy with this one. It DOES NOT match the photos shown for the item. (See my photos attached to this review.) Even though it has the same Item number and ASIN, it is NOT the same. They changed the design of the dish such that the bottle connector is a separate piece attached to the dish via four screws. There doesn’t appear to be any extra seal between the dish and connector, so if you happen to tilt the dish back a little – as often happens when moving it – water pours out the back! It also traps water between the top of the dish and the bottom of the connector where mildew can grow, and it is very difficult to clean. Next, instead of an easy snap-on design, the bottle now has nubs on it that you have to align with notches in the top of the bottle connector and then twist COUNTER-clockwise to “secure” it. I put that in quotes because it is not nearly as secure as the old model that snapped on. If you think you have it aligned and you don’t (because of course you can’t SEE the stupid nubs when you’re holding the bottle upside down over the dish!), it’s possible to have the bottle fall off the stand. And whoever designed this never heard of “lefty loosy/righty tighty.” Who doesn’t know this? What other connector do you twist LEFT to secure it? Finally, the old bottle cap screwed onto the bottle and fit snugly without having to be too tight. This bottle cap has a silicone o-ring that is so loose it falls out every time you unscrew the cap (sometimes ending up INSIDE the bottle), and often gets misaligned when you screw the cap on, which causes the bottle to leak when you turn it upside down to set on the base. We have also had to put the whole waterer in a shoe tray because it just leaks. I suspect this is because the top of the bottle cap is above the level where the base meets the dish, so if the seal isn’t good the water level is too high, and again, water leaks over the side. The whole thing is such a poor design I’m just going to return it. If there is ANY way to get another of the original design, I want to do that. This one is horrible! The manual seems to indicate this is a recent redesign (V3-8/21). AMAZON, are you listening? Please give us the old design back! Update: edited to fix spelling errors.

My cat is so skittish with everything that moves. I tried a water fountain which I thought she would love. She was terrified of it. I tried, for a week, and she would not go near it. I figured I'd try this with my fingers crossed. I set it up and waited. She approached it, looked at the tank, walked around it and finally started drinking. Well, it makes a gurgling noise when it starts to fill the bowl more and she jumped back from it and stood looking at it. After a while, she went back and started drinking again. It took her a few days to get used to it and she doesn't have a problem now but still is leery when it gurgles. She drinks a lot of water and I was tired of having 2 or 3 bowls on the floor. This is great and I am happy that I tried it. I've had to return every toy or product that makes noise and I know not to even think of buying them.

This was such a great purchase! Before, we were using an automatic pet water fountain and it sucked so much. My corgi drinks a TON of water and the pet fountain couldn't handle it so it would spill out the water like crazy. Eventually, it was a hassle to constantly refill it and clean it. This water dispenser looked easy to use while also providing my dog with enough water. At first he didn't like how it wasn't a fountain lol, but later on he started using it with no problem. What I love the most about it is how easy it is to clean, fill, and put together. The size of it is also good for travel. Whenever I take my dog on road trips I fill up the gallon with water and close it with the cap, and it doesn't spill at all. I guess the only downside is the appearance of it? I mean, it's not the prettiest water dispenser in the world, but it matches everything else we have! In regards to using food instead of water....I don't know about that. My dog will keep eating like there's no tomorrow! So I can't imagine having any control if you used it for food.

Por fin un bebedero grande, de plástico grueso y resistente. Después de haber probado varios este es el definitivo. Hay algún comentario que dice que la botella tal vez no es muy resistente; el que he recibido yo puedo asegurar que el plástico de la garrafa es mucho mas grueso que el de cualquier envase de agua embotellada, a mí no me da la más mínima sensación de que se va a aplastar o deformar; lógicamente con un uso normal. La garrafa lleva un sistema de válvula que no deja salir el agua cuando se le da la vuelta y que se abre al presionar sobre un pistón de la base del bebedero; también lleva un sistema de anclaje mediante un cuarto de vuelta de manera que queda sujeta a la base. Es cierto como dicen otras críticas que el agua queda muy arriba y una vez colocado el bebedero en el suelo hay que cuidar de no moverlo para que no se derrame agua, pero tampoco es grave pues si no se mueve el agua no se derrama.

This is the second of these water feeders we have bought, and it has proved to be one of the most reliable pet products we own. The first one lasted about two years before it eventually wore out, which I think is good value considering how heavily it was used. The capacity is excellent. Even with a large golden retriever, it holds enough water to last three to four days, which makes it very convenient. The design is straightforward but well thought out. It comes apart easily for cleaning, which has been a big improvement over other feeders we tried in the past that became green and mouldy and were awkward to scrub properly. With this one, keeping it clean is quick and simple. Another strong point is its sturdiness. The tank is solid, reasonably heavy when filled, and doesn’t get knocked over or pushed around, even by a big dog. It’s also easy to see at a glance when the water is running low. Having tried more complex electric gadgets, I’ve found this simple design works far better because there’s nothing to go wrong. Overall, it’s practical, durable, and very effective. I would happily recommend it and will continue to buy the same product in the future.

Bonjour, je recommande fortement ce produit, acheté en juillet 2022 et on est le 3 janvier 2022 quand ma femelle est devenu gestante, ils vous facilite grandement la vie si comme moi vous avez plusieurs lapins qui boivent beaucoup surtout en été avec la canicule. L'appareil est facile a nettoyer. Petite astuce pour nettoyer le bidon, une tasse de riz, un peu d'eau et du liquide vaisselle, et là on remue fort pour bien nettoyer partout pendant 5 minutes, afin d'enlever les taches qui vont apparaitre sur les parois après 2 ou 3 mois d'utilisations ( ce qui est normal, même si vous changez l'eau régulièrement ). A noter : j'en ai commandé 4 , mais renvoyé 1 car le bidon avait un défaut de fabrication sur ses fixations. et au final 3 bidons étaient suffisant pour 9 lapins à remplir tous les 2 jours. Pour 2 lapins on renouvèle l'eau 1 fois par semaines. autre bémol, attention a ne pas perdre le joint du bidon qui parfois ne reste pas sur le capuchon, ça a l'avantage de pouvoir nous permettre de le nettoyer facilement avant de le remettre en place. Mise à part cela, aucun soucis, pas de fuite, c'est du solide, mais chenapan de 1,7 kg saute dessus pour grimpé ailleurs et ça ne bouge pas, pas de fuite, au top. Je ne regrette pas mon achat bien au contraire je recommande fortement, si comme moi ça vous arrive de partir 2 semaines et vous êtes obligé de laisser votre compagnon à la maison avec beaucoup de foins et distributeur de croquette périodique, au moins vous êtes sur qu'ils ne vont pas mourir de soif. (faites un test en présentiel avant la mise en pratique réelle )
