Much better than I hoped for.
I have a lot of fence that needs to be repaired. I am pulling out long nails all the time from White Oak. Up until now I have been using a large hammer and a long pry-bar to remove the nails. I have to hold the pry-bar and hit it with the hammer most of the time to remove the nails from white oak. The energy travels into my hand and arm and often the nail does not budge. With this device, I was easily able to remove nails without using the hammer. The device locks onto the shaft of the nail near the wood. When you rock the device back-and-forth the device locks onto the nail closer to the wood. This is a big advantage over pulling the nail only from the nail head that continues to move farther from the wood as the nail backs out. I am able to pull out even the toughest nails from Oak without hurting my hands. I will let you know if my attitude changes, or the device brakes.Update 10/15/2024 after six weeks pulling about 30 nails out per week. Item is still functional but showing wear. Some very large nails do not fit into the slot. I still prefer this device to my hammer and pry bar. I wish it could fit all nails and that it was about 4 inches longer.

Makes the job a lot easier
Works great. Removes screws easier than a claw hammer.Works just as they said. Perfect size and easy to use. I use this to remove old dock boards were the screws are stripped

Good Quality and unique
My husband was thrilled with this when I got it for him as a gift. He says it works better than others he's had because of the unique nail puller.

Works reasonably well
The combination cats Paw / Pry Bar / Nail puller works reasonably well on the tasks attempted to date. Due to the size of the tool it will work best on shorted nails. The only issue I've noted is that the slot for the rocking arm is rather large for removing 3 inch 16 gauge brad nails and requires use of 2 hands secure the brad nail. In this case, I'm removing remaining nails from a tongue and grove cedar ceiling that had ripped down by a contractor. The nails that are being removed only penetrated the surface of the nailer base by approximately a half inch.

An ingenious nail puller that digs out the head and rocks the nail out !!!
What a find... removed old crooked nails embedded in hard old boards on my shed. Drove into the boards and exposed the nail and the rocker end pulled these super long nails out like magic !!! Note: if you don't want to damage the wood you need something else, but in most cases, you don't care and this works great !!!

Saving me a lot of time removing deck nails
A friend of mine advised me to get a cats paw tool to expedite nail removal. I am currently replacing my old pressure treated wood decking with composite decking. The old decking was nailed in place. I initially started removing nails with a claw hammer but I was getting frustrated on the time it was taking. The cats paw tool is much better for this job and I estimate that I will save a lot of time. The tool is reasonably priced and is decent quality. The how to use video on Amazon was very helpful too.

Surprised how usefull this tool is
When pulling out old nails and having the head sheer off or become so small you cannot get a bit on it is a drag. This tool really made getting those stubborn nails out a breeze, yes you need to have a bit of length to really grab it but it works well and saved a lot of time and frustration.

Awsome find!
This nail puller has a claw and works great but on the other side it has a lever type nail pulling tool that works perfect for pulling out nails that don't have a head and it will also pull very hard to remove nails with ease. It is just the right size for my hand and a good design.
