Good product, plants love it.
I’m trying to end my love/hate relationship with rockwool. I heard good things from a friend and decided to try this coir. The bocks are very convenient but didn’t expand as much as I thought and was finer cut/grind than I expected. I use it with hydroponic drip system 75/25 with perlite. That mix has worked out very well. I had to add screens to the pump and drain because bits of coir washed out of the pots, especially at first. At this point it works fine, now that the initial washout is over and screens are in place. I probably will go with a different medium for drip systems because of the washout mess, but would happily use it other types of hydroponics or aeroponics as a starter medium. Even though some of what I wrote seems negative, any issues were a result of my lack of understanding about the product. I went in hoping for something like rockwool, but safe and compostable. Coir is not that. I will happily use it again for some applications now that I know what to expect from the coir bricks. I don’t have enough experience with coir to recommend it vs other brands of coir. All I can say is my plants are thriving.

Great for house plants
I use this for my house plants and it works really well. It holds more moisture and I just create my own mix from it

Amazing Quality – A Must-Have for Gardeners!
I was really impressed with the quality of this Cococoir. It arrived clean with no unwanted dust particles and absolutely no unpleasant smell—just a natural, earthy coconut husk scent, which I really liked. It expands about 2.5 times its original size when hydrated, which makes it super efficient and easy to store. The texture is perfect for improving aeration and drainage, which has made a big difference in the health of my plants. Plus, its water retention is incredible—holds up to 10 times its weight in water! If you’re into gardening or need a reliable growing medium, this is definitely worth trying. Highly recommended!

Easy to use
Never used before, but this stuff works great for new plants starting you just break it up and soak it. Goes a lot farther than you expect

Quality and quantity not as advertised!
This is my second order and nothing like the first. These bricks were easily broken apart by hand and equaled half the amount as the description advertised! The first brick was added to a 5 gallon bucket and added water per instructions and was so wet that I broke the other brick apart by hand to soak up the moisture.

This product helps keep your soil moist and loose, when mixed together with the soil. Compact enough to store or transport.

Didn't notice the expanded volume, but there's no weird smell, just reminiscent of coconut. I've been making my own potting mix from coir for a couple of years, just wet, mix with some perlite and add plant food. Unlike bags of moist potting mix, it doesn't come with a population of fungus gnats. Awesome stuff.

The price was reasonable, but I didn't expect pressed coconut powder (thought it would be shredded) when I ordered husk. It would work as a soil additive to retain moisture like peatmoss, but it's unsuitable for habitat substrate and never should have been advertised as such. The product would be much better named Coconut Husk Powder or something else that would describe it accurately. Not worth returning, so I guess I'll eventually use it in repotting or give it to a gardening friend.

Good but only filled a gallon zip bag.

I recently acquired a beautiful and fragrant Jasmine. First thing I did when I got it home was to read how to properly care for it including the type of soil is preferable. Coconut coir came up the most frequently in my searches, and so I will be transplanting it using a light, porous soil with this product. I am SO delighted to finally own a Jasmine and love the fragrance!
