Fujiwara is the school's most admired student and captain of the volleyball team, but her reputation is at risk when she accidentally breaks the principal's most prized possession, a priceless vase. Fellow student Miu witnesses the accident, and Fujiwara begs her not to tell. In exchange, she'll do whatever Miu wants. It turns out that what Miu wants is to date Fujimaru! Although this wasn't an arrangement that either girl expected, the two soon discover that breaking the vase may have been destiny's way of bringing them together. Review: my all time favourite! I love miu and fujiwara and its like an old fashioned fairy tale brought into a modern yuri volume. the artwork is beautiful and i'm always looking for an excuse to read it again :) Review: The Mighty Milk strikes again! - This standalone tale from Milk Morinaga is the perfect illustration of just why she is the Queen of Yuri. Almost a cut-down 'Girlfriends', the story rolls off a ludicrously audacious premise: when star school athlete Nagisa accidentally smashes an expensive vase, the only witness is the introverted Miu, who dreams of meeting her ideal 'prince'. Miu subsequently blackmails Nagisa into going on a series of mock dates with her, so she can be ready for when her 'true love' comes along. But gradually the line between mock and real dates begins to blur, as both girls realise that true love may be lurking extremely close to home. Morinaga takes this absurd concept and makes it work perfectly, thanks to her immaculate sense of character and pacing, not to mention her marvellously understated sense of eroticism. If you can get through it without weeping tears of joy, you may not be entirely human.

Yuri!!

Could be better
This could have been better. The whole time the character told how her mother created her saying that she needed to be girlish and always in her best appearance because of possible suitors. I believe that the author wanted to put, in a not so open way, about the cultural problem of Japanese society in which girls are created to always be delicate and lovely. However, the author has sinned by not discussing this problem. Another thing that bothered me, as in most manga yuris, is that the sight of butch lesbians is not taken seriously or is strongly countered by other characters who "force" the tomboy girl to wear dresses and these things. Anyway ... An okay reading.

Five Stars
Came in well protected, the book itself is clean, feels fresh and the text is well worded and clear.

A cinderella type story with a twist.
Miu is looking for her prince, but being in an all girls school makes it a little hard to interact with boys. But when she accidentally sees the beautiful and popular Fujiwara accidentally break a priceless vase, she demands she dates her as practice for the future. But as time passes for both of them, they both start to realize maybe it is not a prince they are looking for after all..... Milk captures the essence of Girlfriends in this stand alone manga. The characters have their own personalities, Miu is a princess type who loves cute things and wants what her mother had, and Fujiwara is the slightly spacey, eccentric athletic type. But when they are together you can feel the chemistry between the two. I loved it and an looking forward to MIlk's new series coming up in a month or two.
