If you don't know how to hoola hoop, I suggest you learn first with a regular hoop, and then switch to this one. This hoop is bulky and when it falls it can hurt your legs and feet and other body parts it comes in contact with. I haven't used a hoop in over 15 years, so it was a learning curve for me, and I had bruises on my legs, feet, and arms after my first session. Now I kind of got a hang of it and I like it. It is indeed slimming my waste down, which is what I got it for. If you bruise easily make sure you use it over clothes, if used directly on skin you'll have your waste area all black and blue :)

Bought it for my wife & she loves it .Yes its heavy & yes the first few times you use it you bruise really badly & it takes a while for the marks to go but once you get the hang of it, its great.She never knew how to hula hoop learnt it in a weeks time after dropping it a zillion times on her feet & crying out loud but she's a tuff cookie to crack n now is hooping non stop 45 minutes.

I just received this item today and I am in love with it. It is very large in person having an overall diameter of 3 feet and each massaging ball being about 2 inches in diameter. Assembly was really easy (just snap and go!) and it can all be stored in a convenient smaller box. I have personally loved hula-hooping all of my life and am very good at it , so I find this a very fun exercise tool. I also have a very high tolerance for pain, so it almost feels like being tickled when I use it which I also find very amusing, however my family though differently. All of my family believed it to be painful and somewhat stabby when used (con #1). I also found that this product is not very high quality as the plastic is cheap and some of the massaging balls are wiggling like a loose tooth (con #2). Overall though, I truly believe that your ability to enjoy this product is directly related to your level of pain tolerance!

My wife hates this. No weight to it at all and the balls are sharp. Furthermore, the clips that fasten it together come apart easily and went flying across the room.... Just sits in a corner.

Love it! This has got me into hula tricks. It does bruise a little at first but no big deal - it is super great for starting hula hooping. Travel with and ese mine every day.

Looking forward to lose weight with the help of this hula loop. The balls inside are really hurting me. But I still think it's an effective way to reduce belly fat. Just don't use it every day if you don't want to get serious bruises.

I just received my package and assembled it.Very Very easy to assemble. The only reason I give it only 4 stars is because the body of the actual hula hoop seems a little cheap, but not so cheap that it'll break any time soon. I agree with the bottom reviewer when they said that it's a little too light. I personally cannot take a lot of pain, and I feel like it's a little too light... But I know that my belly fat wont get used to it some time soon, so when that day comes where I need more weight, I'll have to figure out what to do.. maybe make a pouch with some sand in it and somehow get it inside of the hoop? It might be better than putting rocks or such inside, then it'll make a lot of noise.. but that's for later.The package was scheduled to come a week later and I was very surprised at how fast they shipped it over! Amazing! the actual box was placed inside of another box with peanuts.Overall very happy with the purchase! Here is to all of us who want to get toned in 2014!

My main hoop is a 3lb weighted hula hoop but i use this one for more of a cardio workout since its lighter and harder to keep up. The little massagers bruise you at first but goes away the first few days. You should be an experienced hooper if your gonna buy this though. My family and friends thought it was a torture device.
