Great pastels for artists

I've previously owned the 25 set, so know that these are good student oil pastels, but I wanted a more extensive colour range. I'm over-joyed with the colours in the 50 set: not only do you get 2 extender pastels, but the set contains some great colours for painting cats: lots of natural earth tones, browns, creams, and oranges (for ginger cats); there are lots of surprises in the other colours too: olive greens and gorgeous blues (great for blue kitten eyes), and some extra reds.If you need a good student set at the top end of the range (these don't quite make it into the expensive 'artist' category) I recommend these, especially for wildlife and landscapes.

These are really nice quality they blend, overlay lend themselves to finally engaging with some artwork. Def recommend. Used with more direct force they work well also.

I bought these as they are what is used by the art class I’m attending. I am just a beginner but they’re easy to use, feel nice, blend well and the colours are great. The picture is the very first oil pastel work I’ve done.

Estos colores de Sakura, que aparecen como "Expresionistas" no son pasteles al óleo, son simples ceras, como lo conocemos en España, no llevan aceite de linaza, deben estar tratadas con parafina. Lo explico poque observo que en muchas marcas aparecen también con la misma denominación y son simples crayolas o ceras. Los tonos de los colores son variados, pero en cuanto a calidad dejan que desear, tenemos las ceras Manley españolas, que son fabulosas y las hay de 50 colores y mucho más económicas. La gran mayoría de las pinturas que aparecen como pasteles al óleo, incluidas las Faber Castell, que también las he comprado son ceras y por tanto bastante caras. Estoy pendiente de recibir las de Sennelier, por lo cual no puedo opinar aún, pero quizás sean las únicas que son al óleo y posiblemente las de Windsor & Newton.

very smooth and blends nicely. Highly recommended!! great pastels for the price perfect for small works - however pastel diminishes kind of quickly depending on how much coverage you’re wanted out of a certain colour. Will definitely buy again

I love the crayon! It blends well and even when I accidentally dropped the box and the crayons all scattered, it didn't break at all!

Ces pastels m'ont été conseillé par une dessinatrice car elles sont bien grasses, à l'huile, on peut faire des nuances avec de l'essence sans odeur, s'étalent très bien, le secret c'est le support, je conseille malgré le prix exclusif du papier de la marque pastelmat de différents grains, c'est la garantie d'un bel effet. Beau nuancier dont une pastel blanche et deux neutres. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Envoi rapide et soigné dans une boîte. Aucune casse, aucun doublons. Possibilité de passer plusieurs couches pour faire des effets de dessins avec des cures dents dans le dessin pour un effet 2D. Je ne connaissais pas cette marque et c'est une très bonne découverte. Je recommande vivement.
