I ran into some trouble installing and the manufacturer was incredibly helpful. A couple of assembly tips. The deadbolt is difficult to align. Use a bubble level on one side and have someone hold that side while you work on the other side (using a level). Once they are both level, the screws go in easy. Don't use a power drill or power screwdriver. Go slow and easy with a manual screwdriver to avoid stripping the screw. If the lock or latch are rough, put a little pencil lead on it. Graphite is a great dry lubricant.

Our house was built in 1989, and it still had the original front door hardware that was scratched and rusted and was not a very welcoming sight to anyone entering the house. I put replacing the lockset on my list of things to do, and I finally got around to it this weekend. I must say, when the lockset arrived, I was surprised at how heavy it was. It was also very pretty, with a brushed brass finish. Since I was replacing an existing lockset, all I really needed to do was take out the old and install the new, and it was very easy to do. If you are installing this on a new door, it will require you to use a template provided with the kit and measure and mark off the locations of the lock, doorknob, and handle, and drill the necessary holes. I only had to drill one to accommodate the screw that held in the bottom of the door handle. It took me longer to do the touch up painting on the door than it did changing out the lockset, and now the door is back to being pretty and welcoming.

We bought our first house this year and of all the little things we’ve gotten for it, this front door handle and lock set has gotten me the most giddy! We have a lovely deep red door but it has very simple, old hardware on it. This new set is going to dress it up so beautifully! I am eagerly awaiting installing the handle and until then, I keep opening the box to take a peek. The color of the brass is so mellow and lovely, a very warm tone. All of the hardware has a nice heavy weight and feels very well made. I know it will be a more involved installation but I’m thinking it will go as easily as possible with their instructions and included hardware. I will update as soon as we add it to our door with how it went and photos!
