Limited enhanced Japanese pressing of the British R&B artist's 2007 album comes with two exclusive audio bonus tracks, 'Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)' (Touch Mix) and 'Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)' (Chase & Status Remix).. Also features the enhanced video for the first single, 'Hot Stuff'. Recorded in Havana, Cuba with producer Martin Terefe (KT Tunstall, James Morrison) and writer/producer/mixer Fraser T. Smith (Craig David, Kano, Beyoncé, Plan B, Jamelia), the track '6 of 1 Thing' emphasizes how Cuban musical culture influenced his new work, whilst the ballad 'Awkward' features some of his most evocative lyrics to date. Other highlights include the infectious hook and insistent rhythms of the title track, and 'She's on Fire' which combines sublime bass with Craig's fluid lyrical flow. With 13 million album sales worldwide and still only 26 years old, Craig David has earned a reputation as one of the UK's foremost talents, as well as one of the nation's most successful musical exports. WEA. 2007.

Different Flava
But still Craig David manages to incorporate that into "Trust Me" and while it has a different sound than some folks might be used to. Even me..by the time i was done listening to trust me. I got a cool laid back vibe from the cd and i know with more listens i feel even more what he's bringing across on the cd. Overall though i have to give him props for doing something a bit out of the norm. There are more ballads "Awkward", "Officially Yours", "Just A Reminder" and "Top of the Hill". Along with the mid-up tempo songs like "Hot Stuff (Lets Dance), "Friday Night", "6 of 1 Thing", "She's On Fire" (one of my fav Craig comes with rapid fire singing flow that's crazy). While not his best cd "Trust Me" is still more of a step up than a good portion of other cds that are out now.Bravo 2 ya, Craig...likin this and the future for ya as well. God bless!!4/5 overall.

Excellent Album By An Enormous Talent
Craig David first came to my attention via an ad on Soul Train in 2001 for his debut album Born to Do It . It was part of the 2-step dance wave that was very defining to the music for the next several years. Trouble with that is that it became mainstream very easily. And very mechanical. And it wasn't long before David,a talented singer/songwriter in his own right seemed to tire of sound that had made him famous. By the time 2007 came along there was definitely a need to take the R&B/soul/funk community out of the series of stereotypes it seemed to be forcing on it's practitioners. This was in America. In David's England there was at least a strong underground of a more diverse range of soul, funk and dance music that had continued to exist from the outset. Since he was with a major label deal and a good deal of success Craig David was in a position to blend his potential for mainstream success with the creative ideas from this underground. What he came up with here, whatever his intentions is one of the most well rounded and consistently strong in terms of soul/funk of this era. Generally speaking it actually is based strongly in well produced live musicianship and very strong song craft. The first three tracks alone are corkers. "Hot Stuff (Let's Dance)" was the big hit,a high key re-imagining of the David Bowie hit. After that is the break beat infused horn funk of "6 Of 1 Thing",one of the most rhythmically complex numbers of the "nu funk" era as it were. "Friday Night" is a sleeker sophistifunk number that's melodic and heavily arranged. "Awkward" is very appropriately arranged in a spare, midtempo soul number that's spare with more accents than big instrumental sounds. "Just A Reminder","Officially Yours","Kind Of Girl For Me" and "She's On Fire" are wonderfully sleek uptown type funky soul grooves with some tasty orchestrations and bass/guitar interaction. "Don't Play With Our Love" is the most rhythmically and melodically involved number here, with one of the most astounding melodic hook I've heard this end of Rod Temperton and instrumentation that goes from hefty disco-funk to salsa. "Top Of The Hill" is a soul/folk type acoustic guitar based number where David speaks of the importance of the stories of working class people we all too often ignore. Only the closer "This Is The Girl",a rather stereotypical contemporary hip-hop/R&B track with a cookie cutter rap is a song I'd describe as unneeded. But that doesn't destroy what's otherwise a wonderful ten song album that thoroughly explores the realm of what soul and funk can still do in this modern age free from the somewhat stifling influences of newer and more overused sounds. It's a very upbeat album too. It doesn't go out of it's way to prove any points. It just does it and keeps you dancing and singing along while it does.

Warning: This review was written by a Craig David stan!
First let me say that I am a Craig David fan. You might even be able to say I'm a Stan for his music. I have been since the first time I heard 7 Days on Born To Do It. Because of my Stan status, you can rightfully assume that I am biased. Now that the disclaimer is out of the way; this is my very favorite Craig David album. If you listen to BTDI and then listen to this one, you can see just how much he has matured as a singer. He has always had one of the best voices around (remember, I'm a Stan) but I think he truly shines when he's taking chances and singing music that you would never expect him to sing. Now don't get me wrong, Top of the Hill, is the worst song I have heard from him ever. It's one of the worst songs I have ever heard period. Yet, the album shines with every other track. Unbelievable and Awkward are stand-outs for me. I have heard people say that they like BTDI, but that he changed his style on subsequent albums, and they just don't like his music anymore. That is very understandable becuase his music has matured since 2001. IMHO, if you like good music, pick this one up. You can get it used for $2.47 which would be a steal even if it was a Taylor Hicks album (well, maybe I shouldn't push it that far).

Mr. Craig Ashley David
It's kind of funny how I found out about this album. I was sitting at my cpmputer one day an asked myself. Where is Graig David? And I searched the web and low and behold I found the Album "Trust Me". And I bought it on a whim. And I enjoy the album a great deal. For example I like how he incorporated "Trust Me" which is the title of the album into the song "Don't Play With Our Love" and managed to put a little of a latin flavor among other geners of music as well though out the album. I guess What I'am trying to say is that Mr.David didn't pigeon hold himself as an artist when it came to making this album. Which is What I enjoy the most about the album. For the track "She's On Fire" I like the caribbean influence within the song. There are so many elements to the "6&1 Thing" that you would have to listen in detail for evey instrument. It also has a good message in there as well. If I had to chose a favorite song it would have to be "6&1Thing". ,But I enjoy the album as a whole. "Just A reminder" is a beauitful mid tempo ballad. "Friday Night" is a great party track. In closing the only thing I dislike about the album was the taught guy image in the pictures of the album. Other then that, this album is for you unconditional true blue Craig Ashley David fans out there in the world such as I'am.
