Better than most “pro” controller solutions
I’ve always used custom controllers, elite controllers, etc that have either buttons or paddles. Since the release of the Xbox Series X (and before I got this to throw on the controller that came with my console), I’ve gone through a Scuf Instinct Pro, 2 Elite Series 2, and a Razer Wolverine V2 Chroma. For the most part, the thumbsticks in those controllers fail after only a handful of months of playing Destiny 2 and Call of Duty. Until I find a really good 4 paddle or button Xbox controller that makes use of hall effect sticks, I’ve decided it’s financially cheaper to use a strike pack on a stock controller. Controller breaks? $50. Strike Pack breaks? $50. So far I haven’t been disappointed. I honestly feel like the stock controllers are more resilient than the pro controllers. I received the Strike Pack Horizon 2 months ago and have put more hours on it than I’d care to share. I only use it in tournament mode and have no personal use of the mods since I’m not a scumbag. The paddles seem like they’ve been designed to be quite flexible, probably to extend the lifespan (as I’ve heard older models are quite brittle). As someone who’s used the Razer Wolverine controllers, I’ll tell you that the paddle layout on this thing isn’t all that bad. Sure it could be better, but I personally prefer it over the Scuf and Razer. The Elite Series 2 has the best feel in my opinion. I’m not one that takes issue to wired controllers. Don’t be that guy who’s controller dies mid battle. Two things that do annoy me a little bit is you have to unplug and replug the controller each time you take the Xbox out of rest mode and if your console is in rest mode, the strike pack will stay powered up and the lights on the back are quite bright (the first is a direct result of the strike pack being powered on while the Xbox is off). TL;DR: I can’t speak for the software of the Horizon, as I don’t use the app. As far as using it just for back paddles/buttons, it’s worth the investment as long as you don’t mind being wired.

Build quality feels good and it clearly helps improve performance in shooters. Highly recommended for players looking for better precision and consistency.

The Big 4 Product Line Explained (for Xbox)
There are 4 different products you can buy to Mod out your Xbox One or Series X/S controller, which one is right for you? First, there are only 2 products that support the App, the 2 more expensive versions, the horizon mod pack and the Horizon Vista mod pack. The eliminator and dominator do not use an App. You are supposed to be able to simply hold down the mapping button on the Eliminator and Dominator press the button you want to map on the paddle, release both buttons and you’re done. Ive tried the Eliminator and Horizon. Its clear this is a great controller upgrade and significantly cheaper than an Elite 2 controller, however, I couldn’t get the paddles to map on the eliminator and the paddles on the horizon don’t stay mapped. Collective Minds wanted to be the first to launch but there are so many bugs with these products. Don’t get me wrong when it works it’s awesome but I can’t give 5 stars because it doesn’t consistently work. There are two products with paddles and two products with buttons. I prefer the paddles as I have adhered control freak grip to my controller, which definitely prevents sweaty controllers and improves grip! I could be wrong but I don’t think the 2 products with buttons would fit on my controller now that it has a grip in it, but the paddles definitely work. If you’re playing an awesome game like the Halo infinite campaign this can definitely make gaming more fun and allow you to get the edge you need. Especially on legendary. If you have or plan to get grips I would choose one of the two products with paddles. Also, since I couldn’t get the eliminator to map I would suggest the Horizon Mod pack and always keep your phone nearby in case the paddles are no longer mapped and you need to use the App. Black vs White: They say the white ones are the newer version and the black ones are the old version. I don’t know if that’s true or not because the mods don’t work on the Xbox One. Features like rapid fire or aim assist are quickly recognized by the Xbox and will not work. I haven’t tried the mods on a pc game yet but don’t count on it helping with games on consoles! NOTE: You will need to update the firmware on all 4 products via pc or mac. You MUST disconnect the U-shaped USB Adapter from the mod pack and the controller or else your computer won’t be able to recognize the mod pack. Joystick Guards: Also I added a control freak medium guard on my right aiming joystick and it works fantastic. However, I learned the hard way not to put them on the left joystick that controls movement so you only need one guard. Joystick knob height upgrade: I also added height to both of my Xbox controller joysticks for better control and they work beautifully. Hope this helps!

Excellent attachment!! But setup can be difficult...
So I love Collective Minds accessories. In the past I've used the Xbox 1 Dominator and the PS4 chat pad. Both worked well for what I used them for. The strike packs are an affordable alternative if you cant get your hands on a custom/pro controller and want to game. I gave 4 stars on the Eliminator only because the setup was very difficult to get around. My back buttons weren't working at all at first and was trying to troubleshoot as to why. Here are the 2 solutions I found. 1) Be sure to shut off your PC's Bluetooth upon first connection. Probably a no brainer for some but the detection can be interefered with since the strike pack wants to register everything through the cable ( as intended ). Also check the Xbox accesories app to see if your controller is connected aswell as this can affect it. 2) And this is the important part, MAKE SURE TO UPDATE THE STRIKE PACKS FIRMWARE!!! You can do this via downloading the "Mod Central" software from the Collective minds site. Updating was very simple once I got everything ready, and when updating make sure to only have the strike pack plugged in and connected to your PC ( obviously ) because again the pack cant be detected if its attached with your controller. I use the eliminate mainly for Halo and after mapping my buttons it works perfectly. This version is very ergonomic compared to the Dominator and seems far more durable besides. I had one of the back paddles break of my old one so the Elimator is a nice change. The universal version of the Elimator is a very nice touch aswell allowing you to swap it between a newer Xbox series X/S controller to an older Xbox 1 controller.

Secret Weapon to sweaty lobbies
After using the Strikepack for several months in FPS games like The Finals, Siege and Battlefield, I've noticed a significant improvement in my aiming consistency. The adjustable sensitivity curves and recoil control help compensate when I'm matched against highly skilled players. While some might consider this unfair, it's been the only way for me to stay competitive in skill-based matchmaking. What Works Well: - Noticeably improves shot accuracy in fast-paced firefights - Customizable profiles for different weapons/games - Solid build quality that holds up to intense gaming sessions - Helps balance the playing field against top-tier players Setup Frustrations: - Requires constant phone connection for adjustments (drains battery) - No automatic game detection - manual profile switching needed - Steep learning curve for optimal configuration Real-World Use: I primarily use it for recoil control in battle royals or strategy based shooters- what used to take 3-4 shots to stabilize now takes 1-2. The mods don't play the game for you, but they do help minimize the skill gap (that’s all, this is not a ZEN). After about 50 hours of use, I've settled on 2-3 reliable settings that work for most military shooters games. Ethical Note: While undeniably effective, this sits in a gray area. I only use it in public casual matches (not ranked) against other players. The advantage diminishes against truly elite players. Wishlist for Improvement: - Standalone operation without phone tethering - Game auto-detection for profile switching For casual players tired of getting steamrolled by hyper-competitive opponents, this can restore some enjoyment to online play. Just be prepared for some initial setup headaches and keep your phone charger handy. A Tip for first time users: Create basic profiles for each game type during setup to minimize in-game adjustments.

It seamlessly attaches to my Xbox controller without adding excessive bulk. Price-Performance Ratio: The Collective Minds Strike Pack Wired Dominator offers an impressive array of features at a reasonable price point. For gamers seeking a competitive edge and enhanced comfort, it represents a worthwhile investment. However, it's essential to assess how much you'll utilize the additional features before committing to the purchase. Learning Curve: While the customization options are a major selling point, the learning curve to master them can be steep. Configuring the paddles and adjusting settings to suit individual preferences may take some time and experimentation. However, once you find the right setup for your playstyle, the benefits are undeniable. Overall, the Collective Minds Strike Pack Wired Dominator is a fantastic addition to any Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One controller. Its customization options and on-the-fly adjustments make it a valuable tool for serious gamers seeking to elevate their skills. With solid build quality and a competitive price, the Strike Pack is a commendable investment for those willing to invest time in perfecting their gaming setup.
