This is the best gadget I've ever purchased for my cellphone. I love using my phone a Galaxy S7 (soon to be upgraded) to capture scenes. I used to use a spring-loaded clamp to hold my phone to a tripod. This is so much better. It has tripod sockets on three sides and cold shoes (no electrical power or contacts) for mounting lights, microphones, etc. Yeah, it's made of plastic but it seems durable enough to me. I throw it on the floor of my car for storage and rapid access, so there!Meantime, the best part is the method of clamping a phone. It doesn't use springs and will tighten down to the point where I fear I might crack some plastic...on the holder not the phone. It does everything the description implies and most welcome is the fact that it will hold my phone while still wearing its OtterBox case which is thick. The fit isn't perfect, but it is easy to do and the clamping mechanism tightens to where I don't worry that it might pop out. If it lasts a year before breaking, it will be worth it!

If you're looking for premium materials and professional tools - this probably isn't it. You can get those for 15x more cost.If you're looking for a quality product that holds your phone, has cold shoe mounts for a mic and light, mounts in your tripod in either orientation or holds in your hands and cost <$15, this is a terrific device.Yes, all plastic, limited adjustments (but the phone clamp freely slid to hold my 5.5" with a case with no issues) and I wouldn't trust it to secure my device during a frisbee toss, but for a low cost mount with all kinds of options, it does exactly what it needs to as an upgrade to your pro-sumer setup.

The smart phone rig is a good concept to hold a cell phone on a tripod. The bracket is narrow, so my Samsung 8 with an Otterbox case was too wide to fit in the holder adequately. It held it long enough to use on a tripod, but would fall out with any additional movement. It would work well with the phone without the case.

This was a gift for my daughter and she really enjoys it. We went to White Sands New Mexico and she used it while on the sand dunes, and the sand did not effect it functionality!!! I was really surprised because I thought it would get jammed up. It was easy to set up, IPhone 7plus fit in it perfectly and it was so steady. Over all— great product and price.

You cannot beat this at this price. Yes, it is all plastic save the threads, yes the design is simple, but for 10 or 11 dollars, you cannot get anything nearly as good for anywhere near this price. The phone will not slip out if you make sure that both sides of the phone are pressed against the back edge (closest to you) and press down on the slider firmly before tightening the screw. The first time I put the phone in it did almost slide out, but once I saw that the phone was in the groove on a diagonal (the bottom edge of the phone was touching the rig in the back, while the top edge was touching the front), I realized my error. Once I put it in "correctly" It was so secure I was able to hit it on the end like a ketchup bottle and the phone didn't budge.One thing to consider: the gap between the front of the rig and the lip that keeps the phone from slipping is only 3/8s of an inch, maybe 1/2. If you have a bulky case, you may have to remove it in order for the phone to fit.

If you like filming with your smart phone, then this is perfect for just about any occasion. The design is pretty durable. It's already taken a spill onto the floor and it just bounces right back again. I wish it had a few more 1/4" holes for mounting attachments. I have purchased some 1/4" screws and put them in to mount other things without the cold shoe mount on it. You can get the cell phone holder grips and put extra batteries on the mount even, which is something that may be beneficial for you if you plan on prolonged shooting. I've seen a few people say their cell phone will slide right out of this rig. Well, if you do not clamp it down and then tighten it up, of course it is going to fall out. Great product for a super cheap price.

Liked the price. It’s light and I liked the adjustable knob to be sure it would fit my phone.You can see my 8 plus is about the biggest kind of phone that this will hold.I know it’s cheap but didn’t expect the imperfections right out of the box.Red rubber is coming up and metal is not placed correctly on the mounts. Hopefully not too difficult a fix but when you buy something new you expect it to at least be like the picture with everything I’m working order.Also, with my otter box defender case the lips on the clamps aren’t wide enough so it will slip out unless you tighten it really well, but not too tight because overtightening it will probably break the plastic.Not bad if you want something affordable, just hopefully not all have factory defects. I know I could probably get a replacement but not in time for the trip I bought it for I don’t think. Trip leaves in less than 4 days.

I bought this rig for vlogging when using my smartphone. I have a Galaxy S9 plus with an otterbox and it holds it perfectly. With 3 cold shoe mounts and a couple tripod mounts, this is a very handy little rig. It's super light, made of plastic and seems very durable and sturdy. With a couple additional mounts I was also able to mount my gopro on top with a Rode mic while using my phone as a monitor. So there really are a lot of possibilities of setting this up to the way you want it. I highly recommend it!
