Industrial Grade PWM DC Motor Speed Controller, DC 10V-50V / Rated 60A / Max 100A Industrial Grade DC Brush Motor Controller with Fuse & CW/CCW Switch & Potentiometer Knob

I used this PWM to build an speed controller for my Minn Kota Endura C2 40 trolling motor which I mounted to my kayak. It works like a champ! Forward. Reverse. 0-100% The speed control does exactly what it's supposed to do. I had this thing out on the water several times over this past summer and run it full bore for several minutes at a time. According to my LiFePO4 battery app, the motor is pulling around 39A through this box. Most of the time I'm cruising around between 5-25A. It probably has 30 - 40 hours on it at this point. I've watched a number of videos of people using controllers like this and have seen references to them burning up. At the same time I'm watching these people put them in sealed boxes. Frankly, there's some unrealistic expectations there. If it's got a heat sink on it, you probably don't want to seal it in a box. If it has a fan on the heat sink, that's a clue that it needs to dissipate heat, WHICH IT CAN'T EASILY DO IN A SEALED BOX. For my build, I wanted to make the box drip proof and resistant to small splashes, but not submersible. I put it in a vented box and ran an auxiliary fan the the same wiring has the heat sink fan (see pictures). I also extended the wiring for the dial and switch to an external control box that I could hold in my hand. I couldn't be happier with the results. The only negative I see to this PWM (and this is minor) is the fuse which is just a little strip of metal held between two pins. It comes with a spare, but not losing the spare could be a challenge and finding a suitable replacement some years down the road might be a challenge.

This is set up in a power wheels Dune Racer, and as soon as you push the switch on, the motors move without even pushing the petal. Big Safety hazard. I’ll have to figure it why it sends voltage to the motors right away but it’s not something i expected to need to do. Update: it’s looking like it’s a faulty unit. It should not be putting out any voltage without any kind of input.

The controller didn't reverse the motor on first start up. Had to contact HARMNEE customer service. Update #1 Company did respond and sent out another unit promptly. However, the replacement unit was the not correct one. I received the much less expensive version they sell for $29.99. I have contacted the company to try to get the exact model I purchased. I'll update again after I receive the correct unit. Update #2: I was able to fix the relay that was not closing on the Normally Closed position. I told the company representative the issue was solved and no need to send out another unit. If you have an issue, contact customer support.

I hope to test this out on my kayak as soon as warmer weather breaks. I have purchased 2 other dc controller and they just burnt up. I hope to update my review once on the water. I will dry test it once I get it all wired up. Received with 1 screw missing but have others.

I needed a speed controller that can handle little more power, and this works great. After burning up lesser rated controllers, I bought this one for my manual reel mower electric conversion. Working awesome with no issues. Highly recommended.

I used this to control a electric hydraulic power steering pump on a civic. I got rid of the mechanical pump and did this custom install. The problem was the pump was too fast. So I needed this to be able to adjust the speed of the pump lower. Unfortunately even at full speed the pump is too slow and feels like it's not even on. I took too long to install it Soni can't even return it. I'll have to find a better option.
