Water Softener Cleaner (1 Gallon)

I do not write many reviews, but felt compelled by the results of this product. I have a Kinetico model 60 dual tank water softener. We live in Houston and have "city water", that is hard, but not real hard and the quality is fairly good. Over the last two or three years our water tested soft, but did not feel as soft as it once did... I mentioned it the last time we had our unit serviced for another issue and was told that it must be due to the other dissolved solids in the water. Somehow I ran across some information on resin cleaner and thought I would give it a try to see if it would help. Well, long story short, I purchased this product and per instructions added it to the brine tube and then ran a regeneration cycle... then repeated for the second resin tank. The water is clean, clear, and now feels soft... Yay!

I used a few different products over the years and could never find anything that really worked until this. Firstly, my water is very hard and has a lot of iron. The iron builds up and causes my softener to not work well or the head to clog. I didn't realize it wasn't working for a few months and once I discovered it was all clogged up I had to replace some parts to get it working again. I didn't want to replace the resin so I bought a different resin cleaner and it helped some, did some iron out cleanings, and that helped a little too. Was running low of the previous resin cleaner and it became really hard to locate for a good price so ended up with this one instead. WOW! This one ACTUALLY works!!! The other one must have only been working at like say 20% and this one is like 100%! I could actually tell a major difference after a single use - my water was SO much softer! I have run several more regenerations since owning this and can say it's certainly saved my water softener. I also didn't want to manually have to add it every few days (as my softener is on set schedule) so I bought the auto system that goes in the brine tank and drips in a set amount every day - totally worth it to avoid my same problem of the head clogging. Simply check/fill it when you add salt.

This is an effective lower cost option for water softener cleaner. A gallon jug lasts much longer.

The water here in Tampa, FL is terrible. The Iron quantity is very high, so my installer told me I should start using Res-up from time to time to clean out all that stuff from the system. And boy did it clear out A LOT of it. even after running a manual recharge 3 times, and running an outside bib for 30 minutes. There was still brown tinted water coming into the house. But it finally cleared up. I can say for sure this stuff works, I just need to do this quarterly as recommended by my installer for the amount of iron and other gunk my system deals with. 1. Very easy to use, just follow the directions on the back label. 2. Worth the money to use this product if you value the cleanliness of your water being filtered. 3. I recommend this product to add to your arsenal for maintaining your filtration system

Great product to rejuvinate water softener resin. Nice to have Amazon selling this so that I don't have to put up with a local water softener dealer whose prices and attitude indicate that they only want to sell me a new softener and not keep the old one going.
