Got it powered from an always on USB port on a gaming rig then through powerlines to the router at the other side of the house. This device is slighly bigger than a matchbox and has more functionality than routers costing many times more. I wish I'd discovered these earlier. It's got a full copy of OpenWrt installed. If you're unfamiliar with OpenWrt, it's an open source wireless router project that has just about every conceivable configuration option available, and you can install other apps from a list of about 8,000. There's a polished UI on top of OpenWrt out of the box, but you can also open the native OpenWrt UI called Luci. I've configured it to act as a VPN client and router to connect to home from a remote location. I chose WireGuard VPN because it's easy to setup and enables site to site, so both subnets are permanently connected and visible to each other. I'm definately going to buy more of these.
