A good and unique pen
I read some bad reviews about this pen here on Amazon. So I decided to write my own. First of all, the pmen is indeed plastic and this is obvious from the pictures on the product page. And yes it is a bit pricey for a plastic pen, but you know this before you go ahead and buy this.I decided to buy it because I wanted a pen that I could clip on my Leuchtturm journal. I use this at work to take notes in meetings and when doing field reviews. So my notebook and pen need to be a married couple so to speak: they must be inseparable.About the pen itself: it's definitely not a cheapy plastic, it is actually very well made and finished. No sharp edges, and the clip is also a good quality metal, it does not scratch the journal when clipping it on or taking off. Can't say if it's aluminum or stainless. But again, yes, it's plastic and for the price it is a bit overpriced. But we all knew that before we went ahead and ordered it. I guess we're paying for the fact that this is a very innovative pen that you can actually clip on a hardcover notebook. Now how many pens are there around that you can do this with? None to my knowledge. So this is a very unique pen.The quality of the ink is also not bad. Mine came with black ink and I prefer blue ink. Also I prefer the Schneider blue ink (Schneider® Slider 755 Blue Extra Broad Ballpoint Ink Refills with ViscoGlide® Ink system) also available here on Amazon. It is the BEST.Oh, and I got the yellow one. It is not the bright beautiful canary yellow pictured here but it leans more to a pistachio-ish yellow green kind of yellow. But that's OK. So, yeah I like this pen.And last thing, I did not get the stickers as it says here in the product specs :(So that's why I did not give this product a full 5 *Update: I checked again the package the pen came in and guess what: the stickers are there! My Moleskine pen deserves ***** now ;)See the photo of the happy couple togetherUpdate #2: I've been using the pen for 2 weeks now with both a Moleskine and a Leuchtturm notebook. The Moleskine cover got all teared up on the inside cover of slipping the pen on and off. It seems the cover is too thick for the clip. The Leuchtturm does not have this problem at all.

Didn't Work Well for Me
I won't say I suicide because of this .I won't say I love this brand, but I own few products of them (1 mini pocket book and few passport-sized journals) . First try, it fall apart because it had so many thin, plastic parts . I am an artist at heart, I am not rough on my belongings, although randomly stuffs will fall apart in my hands at times . So this is my experience with this item according to me and my circumstances .Thus, I go back to my 5 all-plastic black pens from Moleskine that I have owned without upgrading to this new model . These old-model pens are not perfect and super-strong, but they are one plastic piece that fits how I use stuffs, strong enough to me and not one of the five pens is failing yet (I am careful of its weak mechanism when I change the refills) . I consider this light metal pen a little expensive, weak overall, although it has a strong surface and built with good materials . This experience makes me more confident to love the all-plastic model more, to me . For your information :) You might handle pens differently than I and you might actually like this light metal pen or even the solid all metal ones (the heaviest ones from Moleskine) .

Looks great, the quality just isn't there.
I am updating after having had this pen for a few months.Currently, I only now have 2 of the original 4 that I bought still working a few months. While the metal portions have held up quite well, the plastic portions have not. The first pen to fail was due to the small tabs that hold the tip to the rest of the pen breaking off due to the attachment point sliding back into the pen some how. The second had a malfunction with the spring mechanism in the top part, and will no longer click. My third is starting to have some trouble due to tolerances between the pen and the moleskine refills. The tolerances are very tight and there is a little too much variation in the diameter of the refills, some work fine but the next may be just thick enough to prevent a smooth retraction. So far the fourth is holding up fine, but for such an expensive pen I expected a little more durability and reliability. Its a great looking pen, I just wish its quality was at the same level. Maybe the 2.0 version will be better.+ + + + +Original Unedited Review:I LOVE the new versions of the Moleskine Click Pens & Pencils. I have and for a while now used both the pen and pencil in the plastic forms, which while always great just felt a little cheap. When I saw that Moleskine was now making both in an aluminum body I preordered them right away. The aluminum alloy for the body removes the cheap feeling that the full plastic version suffered from, while still maintaining a very light weight. The combination of aluminum and plastic offers a nice contrast, and even give it an Apple like feel (matching my MacBook Air quite well I must say). The clicking mechanism is one of my other favorites on this pen, as it has a very substantial click that is neither too stiff or too soft. For any buyers I would defiantly recommend purchasing the pen/pencil holder with the three (3) grips as they do make the pens and pencils more comfortable, even though I feel they are a tad over priced (but all Moleskine is on the expensive side). I would also suggest trading out the 0.5mm Ballpoint cartridge for the 0.5mm or 0.7mm Rollerball cartridge. To me, Moleskine has by far the best Rollerball Ink cartridges, just the right amount and a very smooth ink flow, and in the "standard" Parker style. Because it uses the Parker sized cartridges you have a wide variety of refill options in both Ballpoint and Rollerball styles. So far the only downsides that prevent this pen from being absolute perfection are;1) There is no aesthetically appealing way to mark what color cartridge is in the pen. I am hoping that Moleskine will make the Pen/Pencil grips in other colors than black as an easy way to help differentiate for those of us that like to have multiple colors in the same pen (As I use Black, Blue, Red, and Green to help coordinate my notes for school.2) Shave the click button on the top of the pen down by a fraction of a millimeter so it will stay properly secured in the 3 Pen/Pencil holder. However, as I don't think too many people will use the holder/pen-grips due to its high price, this is not really a big deal.In short, this is a great 0.5mm (0.7mm, 1.0mm or other depending on cartridge refill size you use) pen, and well worth Moleskins higher price.

Very pleasant writing
The product came in perfect shape. It is a pity that this design is not so easy to find anymore. The writing feels really nice. The material also. The lines are soft and it really feels you are easily drawing/writing. You don’t feel you are scratching the paper. I recommend it.

Horrible except for mounting clip
At first I thought the pen was to dry to use but after 10 minutes of doodling it started working. The feeling of the pen is really bad.For the price I would never buy it again since a free company pen is better.Buy a BiC blue pen instead.
