Fantastic series. Good acting, great story line and very interesting. Have bought all 5 seasons.

What a great deal for a new dvd set including seasons 1 to 3. Incredible show with heartwarming stories and characters who grow. Gives a good glimpse into history too. Based on true stories from the book. Good mix of humor, romance, nature, pets and warm hearted, characters. Just what the world needs now! Escape into a simpler time.

You loved the books, enjoy the show! The wonderful stories from the Anglo world's favorite veterinarian, with an expanded version of the sweet love story between James and Helen. Superb acting, beautiful images.

I LOVE THIS SERIES! HAVE BEEN WATCHING IT ON PBS SUNDAY NIGHTS AND I JUST FELL IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT IT. I LOVE THE STORIES DURING THIS TIME PERIOD( I LIKE TO LOOK AT THE RETRO HOUSES AND CLOTHES). I LOVE THE STORY ITSELF AND HOW THE PEOPLE DEAL WITH EACH OTHER AND WITH DIFFERENT SITUATIONS. THE SCENERY IS STUNNING AND, OF COURSE, I LOVE THE ANIMALS! OF ALL THE SHOWS ON PBS THIS IS THE ONE I WANTED TO OWN. VERY POSITIVE AND COMFORTING.

Enjoyable stories based on James Herriot books. Not totally true to book which shows Mrs Hall as older. This has led to more stories based on this character. Well acted.

Love this series! Great storytelling and great casting! Family TV at its best!

The product arrived the next day as promised. I already watched the series on the PBS channel, so I know the storyline and I love the series. My only observation is that the quality of the movies on DVDs is not the same as the quality you have watching it on TV. Just keep that in mind. I bought it anyway for many other reasons. If you are not familiar with the story, I would highly recommend it as a great family watch. It is beautifully filmed and acted.

The increased portrayal of the important roles the women play is refreshing. The settings, production qualities surpass the original series. As good as the original series was, the actors in this series are equally engaging and a most enjoyable series to watch!

This should be in every home. Beautifully filmed. Excellent actors, creative scripts. AND, most importantly, the whole family can watch this heart-warming series together.

The characterization and scenery is exceptional. The story line is humorous and a good illustration of the times and the good morality.
