Solid strong and sharp - bolted to a workbench its brilliant. Worth paying for the real thing. Makes cuting kindling a doddle and can handle big logs as well if you whack it enough times!

Does what it says. Great quality and does the job

We live in the Hebrides and burn a peat fire but need plenty of kindling to get the fire started. This device makes chopping logs for kindling so much easier, quicker and safer. I enjoy using it so much that I find I can’t stop using it. Some hardwood logs still require a good hard bash, but it works. Since it’s cast iron, you wouldn’t want to hit it with your mallet, otherwise it looks like it will last. I’ve no connection to the company and didn’t receive any incentive to give a good review. Just a satisfied customer. 😊

Needs to be attached to a base, and with better screws than those provided. You will need a decent lump hammer and a good swing for larger logs. Sturdy footwear ia also recommended as the split logs have a tendency to land on your toes.

I have been using this to cut up logs for log burner ,found it very helpful.

Fantastic tool, much easier and safer than using an axe. Less energy needed to split logs.
