Replacement Remote Control for Sony STR-DH750 STR-DH550 STR-DN1060 STR-DN860 AV Receiver

I have a 10-year-old Sony AV receiver see my picture for model number. I had lost the remote and ordered this one. I have used it for over a week and no issues all the functions work just like the original remote. So I'm giving this remote replacement five stars!

Got it, doesn't work on Sony machines it is supposed, but works on others, so I move the remotes around to machines that they ran on, despite coming from the manufacturer for the machines made for, and now they all work. Sony remotes are HORRIBLE. I have a new Sony 4k, if I'd known about the remote and the problems with the buttons and software on the TV I would not have bought it. I probably won't buy Sony again despite having 2 Sony TVs 3 VERY expensive receivers/amplifiers and speakers. That's it, I'm done.

Works, and saved me a headache, but unfortunately stopped working a few weeks after I got it

It didn’t work more than a week. We’ve tried replacing batteries and everything. Back to the stone ages of getting up to do it manually.

Many reviews say that this remote doesn’t work and it didn’t for me at first either. The board behind the batteries says “AA” but only AAA’s will fit. For the + of the AAA battery to make contact, you will need to bend out the metal or shave some plastic. After the remote initially did not work, I used tweezers to bend the metal contact flush with the plastic. The remote worked as expected after that. You can use your cell phone camera to verify whether not the IR is working and thus the batteries are making contact. My receiver is a Sony STR-DH550.

So I needed a replacement but this one from the get go is junk. So opening the back for batteries it says AA for double A batteries. NOPE this takes AAA triple A batteries. Putting them in they don't make contact so the remote won't work. I will try and file some plastic down so I can make it work. But the build quality is junk, thin cheap plastic can easily bend remote. But I can say for the buttons I have used it does seem to work when getting the batteries to work. For the price if you don't have issues like I have it might be fine.

I put in new battery in this remote, but it doesn't seem to do anything. The SONY show no response.
