Short but concise. The author bases himself in archeology finds, and gives us a great introduction for those who know little or nothing about the runes, and covering many topics like their history, why they’re so popular in modernity, and the runes themselves and sounds.

The product was delivered on time and as described. Delighted with the book and would buy from the seller again.

Good for anyone interested in our ancient cultures

I was in the same position as another reviewer (from USA, visible below): I wanted a book to read about runes as a historical and cultural phenomenon, NOT a book about some kind of hippy new age 'tell your future' BS. So I followed that reviewer's advice and bought this. Unfortunately this was absolutely NOT the book I needed at all. Instead of an informative and fairly comprehensive text, this is essentially the type of book you buy on holiday after visiting a museum: a souvenir you buy, flip through in your hotel room the evening after your museum visit - and never open again. It is full of colour photos which i have no interest in or need of - i wanted a TEXT to read on the subject. So I bought two books in German - both for under 10 euro new (and one a hardback at that!)- which are perfect for my needs: fully comprehensive, no glossy colour photos, just all the information I required (and more besides). This experience clearly shows the difference between the readership in the German and English-speaking worlds....

Pretty simplistic but if your just looking into things for the first time this will do great just don’t expect any different info from here or extra information

After buying several books on Runes that were disgustimgly wooey and full of things the authors just pulled out of their asses I bought this book. This book is ACTUALLY HISTORICAL and published by The British Museum, that should say enough, ot is not super think, but it actually has more historical information than the BS books that were thicker, and it has a load of pictures. You probably arent going to be let down if you buy it. Not the most in depth tome but especially for the price you will not regret it.
