Excellent Choice for Intricate Sculptures: BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone
I recently discovered the wonders of BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone for my intricate sculpture projects, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This platinum cure silicone offers a host of features that make it a must-have for any sculptor. The standout feature of BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone is its incredibly low Shore hardness of less than 10A. This characteristic ensures easy demolding of even the most complex sculptures without sacrificing fine details. With approximately 250% elongation, the silicone's exceptional elasticity is vital for preserving the integrity of my sculptures during demolding and handling. One of the things I love about this silicone is its versatility in mixing options. Whether you prefer volume or weight measurements, BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone accommodates both, allowing for accurate and consistent mixing every time. The silicone is perfect for various mold types, including one-piece molds, glove molds, and matrix molds. It captures intricate details with precision, ensuring faithful reproduction of my sculptures in the final cast. However, it's important to note that BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone requires specific curing conditions. It must be cured above a certain temperature to ensure timely curing within the recommended 3-5 hour timeframe. Failure to meet the temperature requirement may result in longer curing times or incomplete curing. Additionally, users should be aware of the material compatibility of their master object to prevent cure inhibition, as this silicone is sensitive to various substances. In conclusion, BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone is an exceptional choice for sculptors seeking a high-performance molding material. Its low Shore hardness, outstanding elasticity, and compatibility with different mold types make it an invaluable tool for capturing intricate details. Just remember to follow the curing instructions and ensure material compatibility. With BBDINO Super Elastic Silicone, you can bring your artistic vision to life with remarkable precision and ease.Edit: 6/25/23 - I wanted to address some reviews I recently read about:-This silicone is very thin and runny which is exactly what you want to flow into the details of your object.-Also this is not a brush on silicone and should be not used for such applications.-Using this in the summer/ higher temps (80F+) will cause this silicone to cure faster than the stated timeEDIT: 1/8/24 update - Still my favorite silicone to date. Extremely cost effective and has great shore hardness & elongation. I saw a 1 star video review stating that the silicone does not cure but the user was using 3d printed RESIN which contains SULFUR and WILL CAUSE CURE INHIBITION to platinum cure silicone. DO NOT DO THIS. Platinum cure silicone will not cure when in contact Sulphur. Also this is not a paid review, I make and cast sculptures full time for a living and this has been the most hassle-free and reliable silicone I've ever used.

Highly recommend
This was my first time ever making a mold and resin cast. I have a 170yo Victorian with a beautiful wrought iron porch railing and cap. Several of the top pieces were missing and I could find no replacements in reproduction outlets or salvage yards. I decided to try making resin replacements which ment making a mold. They turned out wonderfully. Pics are of original pieces with brown primer, my mold (10a) and my final resin piece to the right with a finished original to the left. A couple things I did to try to ensure success. I wrapped my mold box boards in wax paper to help the mold come out. I coated the primered original in clear acrylic to prevent the metal and primer from causing cure inhibition. I sprayed the box and original with Pam before pouring the silicone. I used a release agent before pouring the resin. The silicone was easy to mix and pour, had no bubbles and set up well. It is flexible enough to make demolding such an ornate pattern easy and has held up to 7 castings so far without any deterioration. Highly recommended.

Changing my review
Self degassing is a joke. This stuff appears to be smooth on the outside but was full of micro bubbles inside the mold where it counts. This stuff is also not meant for large molds. Made some decent sized molds and it took an extreme amount of effort to remove my items I was molding as the bigger the mold, the less flexibility you get. I probably should have realized that before I purchased but gave it a shot anyway. I did give one star as it’s easy to mix and no odor but I most likely won’t try this again. If you do purchase, make sure to degas or you WILL have micro bubbles inside. It was also very greasy inside the mold. I let it sit for 24 hours and mixed it very precisely so that shouldn’t have been an issue.Edited: 1 out of 5 of my first batch of molds (the molds in the previous review) did come out perfect so I decided to purchase more to try this again. This time my molds came out perfect. I don’t know what went wrong with the first batch as I weighed and measured it out very precisely, must have been a defective batch. I’m changing my rating to a 4 as all the subsequent batches from different bottles came out right. I will add, my molds were quite thick and I cut pieces that had cured correctly of the bad mold (not the parts that didn’t) and layered them in the gaps in my box to keep from having to pour so much and the new batches bonded to them perfectly without gaps. That kept me from wasting so much in the dead spaces from the irregular shapes of the items I was trying to mold.

Great product and almost no bubbles!
I have used silicone casting compounds on and off since using Dow/Corning Silastic circa 1990. I really, really like this product. Of the compounds I have used, this is the easiest-pouring, with low viscosity. This makes it easy to mix, the pour gets into tight parts of the mold, and any bubbles rise quickly to the top and pop. When mixed and setting, the product is clear, so you could see any bubbles if they were present. All previous silicone mold compounds I have used tended to trap bubbles. I would recommend a bit more than the 5 hours they say for setting time, and the surface may be a little tacky for a few days. Their instructions list things that can interfere with setting up (a severe problem with a compound I used previously). My mold forms were wood topped with clear acrylic spray to seal the surface, which did not interfere with setting. I used Sprayon MR311 Dry Release Agent (McMaster Carr) to keep the compound from sticking to the mold, with no apparent effect on setting. Without mold release, this compound will stick to molds made from the same compound. The mold detail is fantastic: it can reproduce the grain of wood.
