Works great for cutting and chopping. My knife needed sharpening when I got it.
When I first got this knife it needed sharpening, but after sharpening it, I really like the design and feel of this knife over the Chef's knife that I have normally used. It fits well in my hand, feels balanced, and seems to be a more natural method of cutting and slicing since it the handle is above the knife rather than at the end of it. At this point, I have not used this knife as a cleaver, but more as a tool for cutting and chopping. The curved blade works well for chopping and does as well as a curved Chef's knife with less effort. I have used this knife for slicing tomatoes and onions, and have chopped a number of veggies and herbs for recipes. It has worked very well for all of these tasks. Since the blade is stainless steel, it is unlikely to rust, but stainless steel alone generally needs to be sharpened more often. Since I have had this knife for only a short time, the durability is yet to be proven. If you do a lot of slicing, cutting, and chopping, I would recommend this knife. UPDATE 3/19/26: I have been using this knife for a couple of months. Although it hasn't replaced my chef's knife for some jobs, it definitely makes some cutting and chopping jobs much easier. Having the handle on top of the knife feels like a much more natural and balanced way to hold a knife for slicing, cutting, dicing, and chopping than a chef's knife. I also very much appreciate the curved blade for finely chopping herbs, onions, garlic, and so much more. I will update this review if my opinion changes. I hope this review was helpful for you.

Functional and a great value.
Surprisingly versatile and well made. I am not going to use this as a cleaver for cutting through bone, and honestly am not sure if it will. I cook a lot of vegetarian dishes with some meat and this is perfect for me. It's nicely constructed, but the cut out under the handle needs to be better finished because it's almost abrasive. I still give it five stars because of the functionality and overall design *for the price.* Normally I have a pair of chef knives and assorted other cutting tools. This will easily replace all of those (for my cooking style.) In fact, this, a smaller mezzaluna for mincing herbs, and a bread knife are all I truly need, so based on this knife I am going to greatly downsize my knife collection. One final note: not all stainless steel will stick to a magnetic. This one will, which (to me) is a major plus because I store my knives in a magnetic board.

Potentially Great Knife, But Dangerous in Careless Hands
Potentially dangerous item. It is heavy and the grip is very comfortable. The blade is very sharp and has a slight curve. I love to cook, but now have severe arthritis in my hands. I bought the knife to make cooking easier, given my painful hands. On the first use, I was holding the knife in my left hand and managed to cut open my right ring finger. The cut required several stitches. This could be and is a useful knife, but one must be deliberate and careful with it. I think this type of knife is usually used with a shallow wooden bowl.

Magically good knife
This knife is unbeatable. I've never used knife that was so easy to use before. Like magic. Incredibly well balanced, sharp, heavy blade does the work for you. Simply genius. Can't cut bread well though. But vegetables? Look out!

Great knife
The knife is good, it works. Well, it cuts real good, be careful people when you cut it didn't even chop up. Good now, the little plastic. They come on the end of the knife, I make sure I put it back on there. It's a great knife

Well balanced
It's a solid cooking knife, takes a bit of getting used to having the blade under your wrist, but the ergonomics feel nice. Little pressure is needed for chopping but because of this, you need to be careful. Cleaning it is a bit awkward as there's no real way to safely clean it like a normal knife.
