NEEWER 82mm Kaleidoscope Prism Lens Filter, Photography Prism Crystal Glass Effect Filter with Multi Refraction and Variable Number of Photographic Subjects

I have never used a kaleidoscope prism lens filter before so we had a lot of fun experimenting with it. We took loads of photos but in retrospect, I'm not really sure what you would do with this as although the photos were fun, they weren't something that I'd actually display. But perhaps I'm a newbie and need more practice! It comes well packaged and I like that it has a cloth and a bag to keep it in. This would make a good gift for a keen photographer, even if that photographer is yourself. It's quite good for experiments for kids too.

I never knew these Kaleidoscope Prism lens filters existed in photography. I was a very big fan of Kaleidoscope when I was a child. I had lot of fun with it but when Amazon Vine offered this for review, I was very excited to see what I can do with it on my DSLR camera.I received a very beautifully presented box and when I opened the box I was pleasantly surprised that a fully padded Neewer branded bag was included with this Prism lens wrapped in a microfiber cloth and a spare microfiber clothe for cleaning.As I was very keen on getting it on my camera and test, I put it on my Nikon D7200 with Sigma 17-50 2.8 lens. Filter thread was smooth and it mounted and dismounted without a friction.Neewer 77mm Kaleidoscope Prism Lens Filter is an amazing piece of crystal glass Prism which is heavy and feels durable. It is a variable Filter and you can change the effects by rotation of filter just like Kaleidoscope.I could not wait to test and review so here is few photos I took inside my living room as British weather is unpredictable. I will be shooting more interesting photos with it and upload them on my IG page. It is a very creative filter in your photography bag. I like to try portrait with it as it will be an effect that people would think I spent hours on photoshop. It will also be great for product photography as well as iconic landmarks. I am thrilled with the quality of the glass and it has no affect on Auto focus at all. I am not into video graphy but I believe it would be very cool to see multiple objects in video.

Very good quality kaleidoscope prism lens filter made from good materials.I have wanted to get something like this for a while now and then I saw Neewer produced one and I thought I would give it a try.I have mixed feelings about this lens filter it does work BUT does not give the great effect I thought it would, I feel it works better with a prime lens when I use a telephoto lens I have to zoom in & out till I find the sweet spot to get the effects. I feel this is a lens filter you won’t use very often just now and again when you want to try something creative but at this price I don’t mind that.Also with the design of the filter this is not a filter you would just put in one of your camera bag side pockets you will need to either wrap it in the cloth provided or in the case to protect it. The filter also has a bit of weight to it, it feels solid.

So striaight off, id recommed this lens. It arrived well packaged, lens was wrapped within a soft cloth, a plastic packet, and thn within a branded storage bag also with a nice branded cleaning cloth, all neatly packed. The lens is made of glass and is quiet weighty and for the price, is actually of good quaility.It fits nicelyonto the front of my camera lens, and as kalidascope works by rotating the lens gives you different styles to the main central image. This is an ideal lens for the creative person, and would suit a wedding photograper looking for an arty shot perhaps.

This is a review of the Neewer 77mm Kaleidoscope Prism Lens Filter. It comes in a cardboard box with the filter in a nylon type, Velcro fastening pouch/carry case together with a cleaning cloth. The actual filter, which being glass is quite heavy, is mounted on a ‘free wheeling’ mount so it’s possible to twist or move about on the lens without fear of it being unscrewed accidentally. I fitted this on my Canon 7D with 24mm to 105mm lens, which fitted very nicely as the thread is nice and crisp. As well as the supplied cleaning cloth, the filter is also wrapped in its own soft cloth inside the pouch - see photos. I did some test shots - I’m still experimenting - using a small ornament and I am pleased with the results as I feel I am ‘getting there’ as I am trying various aperture settings to get assorted effects. The photos included here were take using a tripod at differing apertures but due to the size confines here may not show to their full potential. I prefer to use manual focus as opposed to autofocus as I find I have better control over it but it’s down to personal preference of course. The overall effect is very good - no ‘dividing’ lines showing - with the ‘halo’ type effect very pleasing with the filter being very well made and I may well try it with my other lenses using step rings as appropriate. At this down to earth price currently, as reviewed May 2023, its very good value and really worth trying out.

This arrived well packed, the lens was wrapped in a soft cloth, then sealed in a polythene bag placed inside a branded storage bag with a branded cleaning cloth, all neatly packed into the branded box . The care taken is brilliant.The lens is made of glass and is fairly weighty and a feel of quality build.It screws nice and easily onto the front of my camera lens, rotating the lens gives you different styles to the main central image, Obviously this is a kind of one trick pony type lens, but it certainly delivers. This is an ideal lens for the creative person.Neewer is a brand I am coming very familiar with and love the quality products I have purchased.I would recommend this without any hesitation.

Benn having fun shooting with this filter. Heavy glass comes wrapped in its own cleaning cloth. Looking forward to experimenting with it on many different subjects. Very happy with this purchase.

Filtro interessante, utile per variare un pó dalle solite fotografie e creare effetti unici.Essendo vetro pesa abbastanza e bisogna stare attenti a non rigarlo dato che sporge dalla lente.In ogni caso consigliato !
